At 11:02pm Friday Porter Fire was dispatched to a head-on crash on FM 1314 near Louis Lane. Units arrived to find two vehicles over 100 yards apart with heavy damage and the drivers of both entrapped. FIrefighters worked for close to 20-minutes to free the driver of the GMC Denali pickup. THe truck had come off the roadway, hit a brick fence which ripped the cab of the truck off the frame. THe driver was transported to Kingwood Hospital. The other vehicle, a Chevrolet SUV, had a female driver trapped. Firefighters were able to easily get her out. She was also transported to the hospital in stable condition. According to witnesses the GMC Denali was traveling at a high rate of speed north on FM 1314 when witnesses say they saw sparks and the truck went into the southbound lanes hitting the SUV almost head-on. That impact ripped the drivers door from the vehicle. THe GMC then continued over 100-yards where it went through the ditch and struck a concrete wall/fence. THe cab was ripped from the frame. DPS is still investigating what caused the GMC to cross into the opposing lanes.
