Just did this with my ‘09 3500, much easier to replace the sway bar bushings first, the end links supports the bar. Then pull both end links, the sway bar is supported by the new bushings, it makes it easy to line up the end links, all the while on the truck.

Great video,, My manual says the to tighten down the Top nut @ 27 ft lbs and the lower @ 75 ft lbs.. It's no fun if you strip the threads..

You guys should look at getting a steering stabilizer bar kit. They help a lot. Easy to install and are usually around $100. It is a metal frame that bolts to the chassis, and supports the steering box. Also a dual steering stabilizer kit is another good choice with both of those it would drive about as good as a dodge can.

Yah for sure in time I will do that!!!! Thanks!!!

Bought Mood links torqued them to the 100 lbs stripped the threads at the axle. Went to dodge bought new oem links and they gave me a spec sheet indicating torque is about 75 lbs and about 25 on the top. These may be updated from original specs?
@hogie16853 жыл бұрын
They where all good for me. I put a new steering box in with OEM bolts and torquing them to spec and I had one break!!!!

What death wobble? I have miled out an 01, 08, and on a 17 now and never had a death wobble in any of them!! The only death wobble I ever experienced was on a 89 F450 with the independent front suspension while going across railroad tracks. It happened twice…almost tears the truck apart. Thats a death wobble, the Rams just have sloppy steering.

is it neccessary to torque after installing? good and tight is not safe?
@hogie16855 жыл бұрын
I always torque fasteners. There’s a reason they have torque specs. Repeatedly over tightening stretches bolts/studs and then they break. Just good practice.

If the split in the bushing is not coming together. I would say you have the wrong size bushing. Specially if you have a finger gap. IMO

Dude, through the truck away and put that cummins in a leaf sprung Furd. Everything your putting on won't last 50k. It was engineered by girl scouts. The mechanics lift should come with the truck from the factory! You pay a mechanic to do that every 30-50K you could pay for a garage of your own with a blown up Furd sitting out back that needs your Cummins and a Allison to be worth a sht.
