GOD I LOVE STEVEN LIM SO MUCH. The fact that has always just gone for what he wanted and now look at him, 11 years down the line. So fond of him. ❤

I really appreciate Steven’s vulnerability in sharing that video with us. I could hear him mention in it that he dealt with bullying as a child for being one of the only Asians in a white neighborhood. I have a dear family member who has experienced the same thing, and I imagine it’s helpful for others to know they’re not alone in that. Thank you for shining a light on that topic!

16:20 i laughed so hard at Shane's "so that's a no from all three of you?" callback and then "someone get him a beef jerky and get him out of the room." Shane's so quick with these things it's always a good laugh. On this similar topic I do agree with Ryan that Steven's previous ability to stand-up for himself in the moment is admirable, but also I totally agree that when you're younger and first starting out with a skill you're so proud of whatever little you've done because you don't have the wisdom you do when you're older of "oh I can do better" because you just haven't seen that from yourself yet. It also comes to bite you in the butt later though, because as you get older you're less likely to celebrate your accomplishments. So maybe we should all learn from young Steven, and advocate for ourselves too!

You know Ryan if you love lazy rivers so much you should do the salt River in phoenix az. You can rent a floaty for about 15 and they have cases to put your phone in. You gotta do the five and half hour route, pack some beers and sunscreen and you're in for a time. So much fun.

I gotta question for Steven, because you are the instrument DUDE of the group. Did you ever learn an instrument by ear better than by notes? When I was younger my grandma put me into piano classes, and on my first day the lady asked me: "Do you know how to read notes?" I responded with yes, to which she tossed the text book that was labeled, "Month 1: Learning Notes" and my stomach dropped into my feet. So of course being stubborn I went with it and did piano for almost a year learning by ear.

That's the tricky thing tho, is when they made the move to cut out the need for sponsors and move to their own paid streamer to be able to afford it without ads they got a witch hunt after them for it. If they did the same with the pod, there would be bedlum all over again.
