Hi. Today is 9/8/24 and I have a 2015 Audi S5 3.0T with Jackal stage 1 and IE CAI. This has been an amazing tune and I couldn’t have been happier with the results. Being a HP chaser I ordered the JHM 207mm pulley through Jackal and a CTS heat exchanger (yes I know I saved a few bucks ($200) over Merc’s but I’m also adding a APR Ultracharger which is not cheap and ever dollar counts on my build. I’m doing the stage 2 install today adding the 207mm pulley, heat exchanger and GAS downpipes (also ordered through Jackal) and will be doing dyno pulls with my friend who got the 2024 RS3 and he is tuning his as well (not against each other). I will do a video of both cars as well as dyno info and the mods he’s done as I’m not sure yet. So far I am super impressed with Jackal, their customer service is incredible as Matt will literally txt you back same day and performance on Stage 1 was pretty incredible. Just a note I have an IE stage 2 tune on my wife’s allroad and it rocks as well. But two totally different animals. My only experience with 034 is racing another friend’s S4 tuned w/ 034 stage 1 and CAI. He is switching to Jackal. Just my personal experience, I’m not a Jackal rep or being paid to tell this TRUST ME! I’ve spent every dollar out of pocket. To each his own I say. Although watching all the Audi tuning videos 034 seems to post a lot of anti Jackal, excuse vids. Weird as Jackal actually mentions the use of IE and 034 parts on their site in a non-biased way. I’ll stick with IE and Jackal as I am happy with both companies parts in my S5. And yes I need to change my @NHMoparfan as that is 10 years old back when I had a Ram Laramie, which was a great truck but not relevant here.

@joebob38753 ай бұрын
Also I totally worded my rod knock question poorly, what I meant to say is do the chances of rod knock increase with power level and does fuel type affect it? I know E85 is more stable but you make more power with it putting more stress on the engine compared to a 100 oct tune. Is one considered safer than the other?
@TD4wGx34xROX8 ай бұрын
You didnt mention the other jackal pulls which were actually equal to 034. Id like to know what the afr and timing looks like. For both. This will give off reliability for the engine. Im not tuned by either. I see you even have a IE poster in the back and wouldve been nice to see IE compared to those 2 as well. Those pulls looked like it coughing up a lot of smoke at random times too. Doesnt look good to me. Possibly too much timing and that e85 mix is saving it. 🤷🏽♂️ also having e85 is affecting how those tunes would perform instead of it was just 93.
@Need4Built10 ай бұрын
Jackal turned down the knock sensor sensitivity. Easy! Knock sensors need to be calibrated for different hp levels. The frequency range of the new hp levels has to be corrected. If not touched, the engine won't detect knock and implement the safeties built into the tune. Both runs sounded like they were knocking all the way up to my ears. Additionally, adding e85 on jackals tune gave it more knock resistance than 034’s tune. The 11.65 (jackal) and 11.69 (034) draggy runs can be easily attributed to the fact that the DA was slightly lower on the jackal run then on the 034’s run. We’re talking about .04 seconds in the 1/4 mile. The result here is so negligible that it can simply count up to human error to recreate an exact perfect run or even the difference -200 da. Im not here to defend 034 or Jackal, but if we’re going to do comparisons.. NOTHING can change. The parameters have to remain the same. Especially things like adding e85 to increase knock resistance on 93 octane. Should’ve tested E40 vs E40 instead on the dyno and draggy! (I understand it’s winter and I hope you get the chance to do that in the spring.)

@Need4Built10 ай бұрын
@@kreeks5795 bad thing. It’s a safety feature of a sort. What happens when some thing is wrong and instead jackals tune doesn’t “hear” the knock and just keep pushing the power? Definitely not good vs a tune making 5-10 whp less but adjusting for knock correction etc. that’s only IF they are doing so. I’m not saying they are. I’m not an expert. Just my humble opinion. That pump E85 could be anything from E85 to E70 in the winter, that WILL change IAT's and combustion temps, let alone 93 based knock resistance, so this isn't a solid 93 file comparison. 2gl of let's say E80 into a full tank of the avg E content of 4-6% in the US gets you. So, if 20gal tank and 93 is 5% E content and you add 2gal of E85..you are roughly E13...which is drastically diff than just 93 on a dyno, you are seeing gains and improvements for output but also, afr changes with more E content. Cool video, cool data, but, 93 vs 93 would be the best comparison instead of mixing in unknown variables.

@@AudiC7Owners of course. im just curious since 034 has an *older* file, if they spent the time and updated things, could they possibly match ? obviously theirs some tweaking that jackal is doing.

Nice smoke show at the end of the pull with jackal software

Did it with both tunes, he has an issue with valve seals at his mileage.

Video didn’t show smoke on 034 software. Must be the angle it was shot at

You only saw 034 from the front. My car is an equal opportunity smoker due to my valve seals

Just curious, will you still be releasing the separate videos on 034 tune & Jackals or you can’t after the engine mishap. In the market for a tune and love watching your videos so would love to see a more in depth but if you can’t, I totally understand

I kind of touched on this and my live chat reply that I recorded last weekend, but I am on the fence. It isn't that I cannot. It's that I am unsure if, because of what happened with my engine failure, people would still believe that I was being impartial if I said anything negative or critical of 034 in the review. I'll likely still do it.

Sorry to be of subject but my 8y rs3 runs 1.80 60ft 7.36 on 1/8mil@95mph with a little spin? It's was done on a no prep street road event using south Coast raceways tree and timing. I wish I could run you 60ft times wow why are they so low and your 1/8mil is in 7.4s?
@AudiC7Owners10 ай бұрын
Two completely different cars. You are a much lighter RS car. I'm not familiar with their normal 1/4 mile times, but I'd say your 60' could improve with practice.

It's how I get away from police. At 160k, the valve seals are pretty worn. As long as there is no smoke blowing out under wot I'm ok

Since we know you most likely get deep discounts for promoting their products. I know you can’t say it. However with these results it looks like Jackal and 034 and IE are pretty similar and not that huge of a difference? A tenth of a second like many claimed I’m not sure would qualify that Jackal is “the best”, as you disclaimed, “your car” it was negligible. In this case I suppose stick with the tuners that work for your setup and car. Personally I don’t want a tune that’s shifting past redline at 7200 rpm’s. However I also digress. I’m not running drag strips and trying to beat out other classes and cars. So kudos to everyone that does. I think what we learned is that all these tuners are great. We also know all these cars can be slightly different. If you go with 034, Jackal, or IE or even APR you’re in good hands. I think it’s time we base it on just personal preference. Let’s get the IE TCU and put it against the other two as well. Let’s also compare their E tunes also. If we want to be detailed let’s include the fine details. Good luck to everyone and each of those dyno pulls sounded great.
