Wow i have been waiting for someone to post videos on building an 05. Im glad it was u because u do good videos. I have an 05 with a nasty knock on #6 cranked it and took of in a hurry on a cold morning, also over due for oil change and jumped stright on interstate and lost oil press for a sec and boom same exact thing u have here. Knock and a bad injector on 6 so more videos and info would be greatly appreciated. Getting ready to pull mine in the next week or so

There are some abuses that even a Cummins can't overcome... Looking forward to watching this build.

bad injector, fuel in oil, high RPMS = bye bye bearings! this is why you change oil people!!! good start to the tear down my man!!

Where things are going today it is cheaper to rebuild an old truck than it is buying this new stuff that when it breaks good luck on fixing it. The biggest problem is the environmental groups wanting these emission regulations. I like watching Wayne's videos I'am learning about new products that I have never heard of like Polydyn coatings.

Excellent. It´s the oil changes. Always.

Yeah I sell salvage parts and I've sold to people in Canada, I've heard it's a good bit more for anything up there. No joke, I've picked up some excellent buys in my area. I never let a oil change go past 5k miles, if I've been towing 3k or so I get it done. When it's time to rebuild my 7.3 I'm probably going to get the polydyn coated pistons and bearings.

I have worked many years around trucking and working pulling wrenches. Maintenance is the key and don't push your equipment it will fail on you. It is cheap down in the USA for engine parts and a rebuild. What Wayne is doing would a Canadian shop would be at-least 10 grand.

No joke. There is no replacement for displacement. If a kid is going to wait 14k miles to change oil then they will have some expensive lessons to learn, hope it was a fun one.

very nice video
@Ratkill900010 жыл бұрын
You ever try something like an AmsOil bypass oil filtration kit on your engines? They are supposedly rated so you can go about 20,000+ miles in between oil changes.
@Graveltrucking11 жыл бұрын
People have to realize you may own a Cummins but it is a small displacement engine putting out a fair amount of power for its displacement. Real easy to cook a small engine overloading it. Your right foot can save you money or cost you a lot of money. People that don't keep up the maintenance on their truck/engine deserve what they get, oil is cheap, engine parts are not.

Small displacement? 1 liter per cylinder is not small, for its displacement.

love your videos great job explaining the process. but damn man do you need me to mail you some rubber gloves? haha i never used them until about two months ago and my skin looks way better
@GusCowMiller11 жыл бұрын
Dunno where you heard that bullshit from but seizing an ISB Cummins is no easier than doing so to a 3406E or an N14. The only way you can overload a 'small engine' is to modify it because if it could overload doing what it was designed to do, completely stock, then that would be poor engineering; these are CUMMINS engines not Powerstrokes (7.3 exempt)
@PatrickBaptist11 жыл бұрын
Yeah until this feller I never heard of PolyDyn either. Yeah I don't want a huge truck payment for something that cannot do 200k even before needing serious work is a JOKE. Yeah and who wants to hrow away 10k on EPA garbage that you have to pay more money to remove so you won't burn up your engine when it does it's "regen". Man I get 8-10MPG pulling a camper with my 7.3 PSD, many new diesel owners see 10-11MPG just for their normal driving around, what a waste.
