Ashir has run away to Canada to seek peace for himself and security for his family. I believe he made the wrong decision. I hope he gets what he is looking for. My experience is quite different. Your country of birth is like your mother. You cannot give up your mother, especially when one is quite grown up. Maybe you can, but your mother will never leave you. Canada is no paradise, it is just a country like any other. I have been away from Pakistan for almost 50 years now and I miss it every day like my real mother. Mr. Asher's every word is thought provoking & his candid opinions beyond any pint of doubt. In 1979/80, for the first time, l came across Asher in wee hrs of morning at military training area Qta. He was busy in capturing some scenes for TV drama. I being a young Captain & more inquisitive asked him some details of the episode to b displayed on TV screen. He spontaneously replied that his motives were based on total devotion & complete dedication. Of late he wanted to inculcate espirit de corp among entire Pakistani nation through a movie but ironically some one at the helm of affairs in censor board wanted to please our adversaries thus created impediments in releasing this movie & not realizing the devastating effects on grooming our next generation.
