I was at this game, it was my 21st birthday. Right behind the goal for Morley's goal. Brilliant

Morley should have been used by England at the 1982 World Cup (Coppell on the other wing)..Clough would have chosen a very different squad and final 11 for Spain that year than Greenwood..Gordon Cowans also ahead of Terry McDermott..

I went to this game. I was 13. Just 2 weeks earlier we'd knocked Liverpool out of the FA Cup. I remember thinking "why is Mick Lyons running towards the halfway line with his hand in the air..." Could've been 7 or 8 to Villa that day. Still love the Toffees tho.

...wow, absolutely astonishing @ 7.46, very sporting applause from Evertonians when Gary Shaw just misses the left hand post with a delicate curling shot. Used to happen up to the mid - 70's but very rarely after as crowds became more hostile. The only time, oddly enough, when I came within an ace of being attacked and beaten up was virtually 2 years previously at Goodison on a freezing winter's evening, 1-1 draw, att. 29,000. No more than 70 odd Villa fans made the trip that night, seriously frightening for me, will never forget it, horrible. Seemed to have reduced the size of the away end, used to be a large terrace, here it has shrunk to a narrow strip, wonder why?

Great game- good old football. Rimmer gets caught by the Everton player on a rebound and isn't staying on the floor in agonising pain.

Cowans was a great footballer, l played inthe same team as Paul lodge and Tony lodge his brother who was our captain and the better player but liverpool at that time had too many good players to break into their 1st team.
