One item to add and maybe worth doing: test the glowplugs! Since you have already removed the connector from the controller you can now measure each glowplug resistance to ground and it should show low resistance, maybe even below 1 Ohm but an open circuit or a higher resistance ..that is a bad glowplug.

Great video! I have the same problem on a 2008 3500 dodge sprinter. I replaced all glow plugs and the relay and still didn’t fix the problem. I will have to check the voltages like you did and maybe that’s the first thing I have should done before spending over $500.00 I bought everything from dealer with the VIN just to be on the safe side. Again this is a great video!

@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair I found out that there's no constant +12vdc going to the single power plug of the glow plug relay unit, do you know where the other end of that wire goes to? Are there any high amp fuses anywhere on the vehicle?

Mine is a 2014 3.0L, the voltage coming out of the glow plug control module to the glow plugs should be 12V right? With the car running, I'm measuring 4V when i back probe the connector. I have ground and 12V on large red wire. I think I have a bad module? I have codes for cylinder misfire in 2, 3, 5,6, and random misfire. Also has a code for fuel pressure sensor and replaced that. Then EGR stuck, removed and cleaned that. Glow plugs are 6 months old. Your videos are GREAT! Keep up the good work. I wish I was closer to you. Although I can work on my own vehicles, I dont have enough time and wish you were closer. You look like you know what your are doing and trustworthy!

The entire video is directly applicable to the E class diesel E320 CDI. (at least up to 2006 maybe further) BTW: the injectors are identical with the sprinter and if you need to replace injectors on the E class (OM648) engine, the sprinter injectors are CHEAPER but identical..
