This right here is why you are fantastic! Keeping it very real with your content and viewers. I am sorry for your delayed adventure with Knight but I am quite appreciative of your willingness to share the good AND the bad along the way.

Good luck brother. Sorry about all the trouble you've had lately. If worst comes to worst your CDL can get you some good local jobs too. Tow companies are always looking to hire CDL drivers to drive lowboy/landoll and heavy wreckers. Lot more physical of a job but more family time. Find out who is contracted by the local PD for you, that's where all the money is in towing. Many companies will train from scratch and having CDL makes you valuable to them.

I've did the small company thing for a few years. I'm attending orientation at Charlotte terminal Monday. It's all the same. I always liked knight because of their structure!

Are you allowed to drive the truck to places after you shut down for the shift? Or do I have to Uber somewhere like if I want to hit a gym close by?
@RushinTruckin4 жыл бұрын
Technically, yes, but when I’m under a load I never do cuz we’re responsible for it and if it got taken by another truck... There are drivers that Uber places as well
@truckingjourneys4 жыл бұрын
I used to work at night and I'll say that there set up on like a franchise type of system or every terminal runs things differently. but the immediate firing when you do a u-turn thing is bullshit because I did several when I worked there. They have no way of knowing unless you activate the camera, and nothing about don't be a sitting duck and park on the shoulder they don't know if you do that either I did that several times. Sol drive the truck however you see fit because you're the captain of the ship when you're behind the wheel. They hired you to be a driver if they don't like how you're driving they can fire you
@RushinTruckin4 жыл бұрын
Good to know! Yeah, I had no idea about the whole terminals being ran individually. Makes perfect business sense but it’s very difficult to get out west because of it and that was one of the reasons I came to them so I’m not very happy cuz they’ve kept me in the southeast
@buffalobill55264 жыл бұрын
dam youtube never notified me of your new videos. Well anyway Knight is a mega carrier but at least you wont be on a list every weekend :)

I wish you the best friend, it will get better. Hope you like that International, let me know how it compares to a T680. Enjoy the extra couple days at home, there is a reason you are where you are. You may never know why, but there is certainly a reason, and it is not a curse.
@RushinTruckin4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, bud! It’s a Volvo. You’re right, there’s always a reason for things...still really difficult to not get down when things don’t go good...especially when they’re money related

This is the problem with mega carriers. They do a once over and call it good. Then dont even try to get you a loaner trk so you can make money. I hope the best for you where ever you go. I'm staying put at millis till I find something better or things start changing

Looking back, over all, are you happy with Knight? I’m working with a recruiter right now. Great video, thank you!
@RushinTruckin4 жыл бұрын
Eh... depends on the day. Not happy with my cpm of 41 average. Also only averaging 2400 miles/week. I like that I’m preplanned 99% of the time before I’m off my current load. I love the 2020 Volvo I have. They’ve only been able to get me out to Denver twice... everything else has been southeast so with that I’m not happy. I want to see the entire country which was one of the reason I went with them

Are you still with knight thinking about going with them for southeast regional outta Mississippi what's the home time and is the money good for regional drivers

1 day per week out out 2 weeks minimum. There are much better paying carriers out there
@nathanrichmondhoag10214 жыл бұрын
ahh damn. Bro, did you look into home daily jobs? I went from Millis to US Foods, linehaul\shuttle driver. I work nights, and it's mostly doubles, but I only work 4 days a week and its about the same I was making at Millis and I see my family everyday. Ups, Fedex, etc, did you look?
@RushinTruckin4 жыл бұрын
So you don’t unload your own trailers? That’s why I don’t want to do those food companies. If it’s only line haul/shuttle then I’d consider it. You still with US Foods?

@RushinTruckin4 жыл бұрын
I am not. You won’t make a whole lot of $ unless you get lucky...especially if you want to be home every couple weeks. Freight sucks in Florida so it’s not easy for them to find you a load going out

.40 per mile? Didn't Swift buy Knight? Good luck, I remember sitting in a hotel because of truck issues after being freshly assigned to it. Does Knight offer Directv like Millis?

They turned me away cuz I developed diabetes. Since then I’ve turned my health around and no longer have it. I also had a small fender bender while still at Millis last November and Crete won’t take me until that’s at least 1 year old
@FelipedoMundo4 жыл бұрын
Good video bro, so you can show the reality of the business. But knight was not a good choice man, knight = swift. You need to find small companies, you have experience it's easy

Knight owns Swift and they’re completely separate companies but both HUGE! Changes are coming

Wow if it weren't for bad luck you would have no luck at all. I say at this point you need to just embrace it by perhaps changing your channel name to Bad Luck Trucking. It wouldn't be all bad it's BLT for short. Just sayin what else can you do at this point but laugh.
