Great content brother, you should be very proud of all the work you did bringing this rig back to life. Such a better option than paying 85k or more for a new truck that isnt built as well.

Looks so clean. I just bought a 02 f350 super crew off my parents, and thank God it also came with a bed. Picked up 4 doors and a hood for 400 and got 2 gal of ppg white polyurethane paint from my work for free. I'm currently doing all the body work and look to color match it soon. I'm hoping it comes out as clean as yours 🙏

That tail gate and bumper combo here in WA state go for big $. People asking insane prices for them. I do want to do that upgrade though, looks so much better.

Man, i feel old now that they are restoring trucks from when I was already around. I hope to do my 83 f250 and if it looks half as good as your truck I'll be the happiest man in the world. God bless.

You got an 83 Bullnose Ford? That's awesome. You should do a video series restoring it. I feel like that generation of trucks don't get the attention they deserve. Those trucks look great when they are restored.

Your truck has several "non-eom" modifications. You are the first person that I've seen that did everything tastefully, and the truck actually looks better than OEM. Everyone else screws it up.

On my 2012 6.2 CCSB, I got crunchy rocker panels (only the bottoms of the parts you can see below the doors) and on the bed, I got wheel arches that need cleaning up, as well as a bed floor and rails that could use patching up (I'm just replacing the floor and all 5 bed rails), a few small, but still noticeable dents on the cab and bed and I need a new chrome piece on the passenger side of the rear bumper. As far as I am concerned, it's worth it to clean an old truck up if it runs strong. The new trucks are too much, and the used market ain't much better. My cab corners are still solid and I'm not using the rig for towing daily anymore, so you've got me seriously inspired...! Your rig is a DAMNED NICE unit...! 🔥🔥🔥

@raizt1596Ай бұрын
There will be hardly any of them in a few years. Just less of a use for them. Most people don't travel long distances in a single cab, which is what diesels are great at.

The short beds are exponentially more expensive too. I paid $3800 for a cherry one that was spray lined. It was the period correct 99-07 though. The newer ones and 8’ beds are substantially more affordable

Great restore/upgrades. I've been looking for a set of stacked headlight assemblies for my 2K F350. Think those would fit next to the stock grill assembly? Also, did you say you were required to replace the back plate? to make the 05 headlamps work? I agree with your statements, body work is something you perfect over years of trial and error. My experience has been mostly error, and all I have wrong with mine is a small ding next to the rear tail lamp. I'll probably avoid the error and have someone try to pull it out. Restored, these trucks are better than new.
@nick7.3982 ай бұрын
Thank you, I also was failing at body and paint for years before I got good, yes for a full 05 clip swap you need the header panel, if you want just the 05 lights you can trim the header panel and install them reusing the 99-04 grille and bumper. Riff raff diesel has instructions on how to trim the fiberglass header panel to make them fit.

Nice work. I’m restoring my 02’ single cab F350 dually ZF6 4x4 with 210k miles. My 7.3 was the same with leaks. New Moroso oil pan, Strictly Diesel dipstick adapter. All top end parts from Riff Raff and CNC HPOP lines, billet plenums, FRX crossovers, bellowed up pipes, 0.84AR Stage 1 KC300X turbo. Runs great with stock injectors but I’m chasing a hot idle 25-50RPM variation “lope”. I’ve replaced all sensors from FoMo includes ICP, IPR, CPS. Any ideas what my hot idle issue could be? I’m about to replace the engine harness in case I have an electrical gremlin somewhere.
@nick7.3982 ай бұрын
Hm thats odd never heard of that issue, on fb theres a lot of 7.3 groups such as “7.3 powerstroke only” and “7.3 powerstroke classifieds” post a video and describe ur issue there probably someone will know, You spared no expense on ur pan and dipstick adapter!
@JakSchitt2 ай бұрын
@@nick7.398 I don’t use social media except for KZbin. I replaced valve cover harnesses and gaskets from Motorcraft when I did glow plugs. Thanks, I’ll be chasing the idle issue down the old school way. I’m running Diesel Clean additive for a few tanks. If the engine harness doesn’t fix it I’m upgrading to Stage 1.5 Full Force injectors with Jelli tunes and Hydra after that.

Hey Nick. How much in ounces or gallons did it take in your paint, primer, sealer and clear coat did it take to do the paint job.
@nick7.3982 ай бұрын
About a half gallon of primer (this will very drastically depending on how much body work) 28oz sealer (will very based on how many mix match colors or primer you have) and roughly 3/4 gal base coat, 3/4 gal reducer. 1 gallon of clear

My question is... Should I buy a 2015 to 2018 and have to disaster-proof/DEF delete just to get it up to snuff or should I buy a 2000 to 2003 7.3L and dump $10k into overhauling it? I want reliability, longevity, and to ability to tow a loaded fifth-wheel camper.
@nick7.3982 ай бұрын
Most definitely do not dump 10k in a 7.3 overhaul, 0 reason to do that just drive them or do what I did and spend 2-3k. Id you want a 6.7 any 13-23 will be a great truck. I have a 2013 king ranch that runs excellent

@@nick7.398 New to the diesel world, it blows my mind that the #1 diesel engine has so many problems from the factory because of EPA crap. My thought is (after watching Brian Shaw's 02 excursion get redone by Banks Power) to spend the time finding a cherry 7.3L and spend the money on completely restoring it with performance parts. Growing up my dad had an F250 with an International 7.3L. The thing is a tank and probably still on the road somewhere.

@@nick7.398 I did auto body for ten years. Got fed up with it quit and joined a union. Good job on your truck though. These old trucks are getting rarer and more expensive. If you told me in 2003 a low milage pick up would almost sell for what the sticker price was or more in 2024. I would have laughed . But being it's 2024 and I see the prices of these used trucks.
