Come along as I get this YZ250 Up 2 Speed! Well found the sub frame bent, no problem lets straighten it. Clean the air box, new peg, front brake lever. And lastly lets start her up!

Take a look at the airbox on the bottom where the 2 rivets hold it together. I see lots of yz's that are not sealed down there, including mine. That gap allows dirt to get into the intake tract. Mine was bad, and you can't see it looking down into the airbox. I had to seal mine up with shoe glue. Anyone with a yz should inspect this. Looking forward to your new ride. Kelly

Nice! I actually have a 2006 RM250 here right now I'm doing a complete rebuild. Motor and whole bike actually. It was bought as a box of parts from a customer of mine. Just got her started a few days ago and she sounds good. Just need to order up a few more little things for her and she will be done. Oh bummer on the appendix surgery, hope you heal up quick from that and hope you are at least enjoying the down time and getting the 2005 up and going while in this down time! Heal up quick and well! Parrish Fl here, but moving to croom/brooksville area in the near future.

Feel your pain on that crash. Wiped out on 4th July couple years ago, got a concussion, broken finger and a pulled hamstring. At age 57 I hurt all over for a month. Really appreciate all the small details you mention in your videos. Thanks and great job as always

Ahh you welcome!. Oh yeah hurt all over for sure lol. But today was the first day I was able to get out of bed without doing the old man roll to edge and slowly prop up thing lol. So I guess I'm getting better. I'm sure things will tighten up later in the day as I start getting tired in the shop though. We surely gotta try to limit these things as we get older huh lol.... crap

@@UpAllNight91maybe you should do a “ shop talk” video on suggestions for us veteran riders. Safety equipment ,riding skills, staying in shape,suggestions on what’s the best bike for older riders. I currently have 2 bikes I ride 05 KX125 for rippin and a CRF230f I’ve made into a woods bike but I’m thinking about getting something else. The CRF is not much pumpkin, down on power and the suspension is horrible. Thinking about WR250 or KTM250f XCW??

I feel your pain , years ago in the desert classic 100 I got to a high speed zone and the front tire hit a rock I didnt see and swung the bars all the way to the right and over the top I went. I don't know how much sage brush and small cactus I cleared out that day but it was almost 2 weeks before I started riding again. The feeling that every joint, bone, muscle just pounding really sucks. Im glad you got out of it as well as you did. How did the bike fare out? Keep the vids comming, its always fun to see a bike set up perfectly to the rider. Give Beavis a shout out. Be safe...🏜👍

Ouch, yeah man. Rocks are scary. The bike did ok, a little ding on the pipe, broken front brake lever and a ripped grip. I straightened all that out the next day so at least the bike would be 100% again lol. The ding in the pipe I was able to remove so thats good. I expected to find more damage but she came out good. I guess I took most of the hit lol

Glad you're doing alright after the crash man. I gotta replace my Fly Kinetic helmet that I bought in 2014. It's a decade old this year, and I've crashed a couple of times where it bumped the ground.

Should be about 6k when all said and done. But thats going to be 6K track ready. I always change tires anyway so not worried about that. I do expect the clutch basket to look as good as new based on how the original rear sprocket looks.

@@UpAllNight91 Please don't laugh when I tell you it's been 15 years. Rode 80's as a kid in NY where every we could. Moved to FL and got into MTB and DH and did it for years, traveling to N.C. to ride the ski lifts in the summer every year. Rode Santos and Hard Rock, TOE and all the MTB parks on the east coast of Fl. Was able to Rip an old CR125 locally when we had "secret spots" and could get together with some friends. Got old and didn't want to pedal anymore. Scared the elevated heart rate would finally be the end of me. At 50 I could finally afford a real bike and got a new YZ for my forever bike. Looked for used thru the years, but everything was just a rip off down in SFla so I just bit the bullet. Now life, lack of trail riding spots has made it difficult to get on the bike. There was place a mile away behind target to go, but now locked as the condos and medical buildings go up. I can get a quick blast in as my neighborhood is pretty cool and there are some tiny trails and canals around. Just got diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my back so that has been a struggle thru the years, slowing me down when the weather is coolest but now I know why. I will eventually go up there and camp with my wife, but she dosen't ride. Swore I was gonna go last winter but my back has been bad since Jan. MX is intimidating since I'm not confident jumping and still a novice on a dirtbike. Trust me tho I could send it on a DH rig all day. Lack of trails is a real issue and I prefer shade an nature, not MX track. Long winded but I hope to see you out there one day. Moto Bros is the closest to me, so I will reasaerch that but trail and fun is more my speed.

@@kenitsanoutragecandia3939 Right on! Bummer on the Osteoarthritis, sorry to hear that. I feel ya on the hidden secret spots. Florida use to be full of them but thats getting harder, near impossible to find these days. I do enjoy just play riding and wondering around in the woods. Track is good for getting the speed and adrenaline out of the system but the guys who only do track (which is most track riders) dont know what they are missing. The FTR races are cool though, get to ride some very cool land and lots of seat time. On saturday they hold a shorter race and have a beginners class, that might be something for you to look into. And if you do let me know because I think I might be putting in some premod races in on the saturday FTR races. The race is about 1 to 1.5 hours long and its just fresh trail on saturday. Sunday is the 2 hour race and its hammered by then lol. Crooms always cool to camp at too, I gotta do that again soon. Even in the heat, I have a AC in my box trailer lol

Working outside all day really makes you wanna just hide inside on the weekend, but time just keeps flying by.

The new Yamahas front brakes are always a reach even when adjusted all the way down. Get use to it or remove nut on 8mm bolt

Hello, congratulations on your purchase, I wanted to ask you a question, I'm from Spain and here there is 95 and 98 octane fuel, I have a 2017 KTM 300 Exc 2T with Mikuni, and the YZ 250 23 on both bikes I use 95, but the last exit I tried 98 on the KTM and I noticed that the carburetor was finer and cleaner. What fuel would be better for these bikes? In the KTM manual they recommend 95. Thank you in advance, and enjoy that one and regards.

Hello. On a 2 stroke I would use the highest you can get within reason. If you have access to 98 octane and its priced well I would use that. The motor will run cooler and be more forgiving during jetting changes if you went too lean or if the weather was too cold. I think KTM recommendation is mainly saying at least use 95. But nothing wrong with going higher if you can.

I will be putting shoe goo on the frame before placing the guards on. That will guard the frame from the frame guards lol
