Well, it’s been an absolute joy this channel, as it adds a quintessentially form of content on YT not seen before. Who would ever have thought that we could enjoy the supreme pinnacle of classic cars one day, and at this level of refinement. The attention to detail is staggering; that it can take 2 years for a full restoration is just mind boggling. I can only assume that every tiniest bit is being most carefully researched and sourced. Thank you so much again for sharing.
@regfenster2 жыл бұрын
Great comment, the only other channel that comes to mind that offers a similar attention to detail and massive timescales as perfection is time consuming is the mad lads at Bad Obsession Motor Sport, if bespoke engineering and light comedy are of interest then Project Binky is well worth a look, 8 years in and the project car is still not finished, but the quality of the workmanship and knowledge possessed by these two blokes in a shed is outstanding, 40 odd episodes if you've not seen it yet.

What a great video to celebrate your 50th & I’m proud to say I was in at the beginning & have watched them all! Great to see the Dry Ice blasting - have seen grit blasting with different media but never Dry Ice - would seem to be a perfect solution for automotive industry where grit would be a no no but Dry Ice just disappears! Congratulations to you & your very talented team Iain & thank you for sharing all the great content - looking forward to the next 50! 🍻

My favorite channel. I don't mind you taking your time on the videos Iain, can't rush perfection! I enjoy every one of them. One of the few channels where I see no room for improvement and I've seen thousands of them since 2007 if not a hundred thousand videos. Your content and story behind cars are unbeatable. I see some minor changes in editing in this video but I'd keep it like it was before and growth will come naturally (as it has). Some channels supplement fancy editing for the lack of content, which you do not need to. Joy to watch, cheers!

Iain, you are a natural for sober, informative and gimmick free presentation. It's difficult to do that without being tedious, but you manage it like a master. I've never done dry ice blasting, but it has a huge advantage in that there is no media to clean up afterwards. I remember bead blasting F2 cylinder heads to decoke them and we spent far longer cleaning the castings up than the blasting ever took.
@tunwellengineering7332 жыл бұрын
Great video again, dry ice cleaning has been used in industry for decades now. I worked in a company where we used this to clean moulds for injection moulding. The dry ice was great for shrinking shafts or bushes before fitting limiting the use of hammers.
@jimmmaaayyy51632 жыл бұрын
The dry ice blasting is very cool, something mentioned on the RetropowerUK channel is that in addition to not being too aggressive, it completely dissipates into gaseous CO2, which means you don't need to worry about blasting media finding it's way into bearings or oil galleys etc.

Iain, to my mind, the reason your channel has become so successful so quickly is threefold: 1. You absolutely know what you are talking about; 2. Your simple yet explicit explanations are first class; and 3. Your presentation is so authentic. Well done.

50 videos have sure flown by. Been here from the beginning, having enjoyed the rebuild of Harry's Espada v12 engine. And my interest in Harry's channel, started with his XJC videos, as I've always loved Jaguars and now daily an XJ6 x350. Started life as a demonstrator, so loaded with many extras, not often seen on the base engined cars. Not a classic I know, but best I can manage with health, budget and living on the edge of London's ULEZ. Cannot wait to see the yellow Miura finished and that lovely S-Type is damn lucky the "Sweeney" ended after 4 series.
