The next year in the dome vs. KC was the one that really killed them. A lot of people forget the year before in Denver, they blew a big lead as well. 3 straight playoff eliminations blowing huge leads.

And not only that, the Oilers under Jack Pardee only won one playoff game 1990-93; from an ascending team under Jerry Granville they became under Pardee a team running in circles

@@STP43FAN1 It seems that Jerry Glanville has not completely retired from coaching as of 2022.

The Bills and Oilers actually had a lot in common. One difference was the Bills had more stability and better coaching.

Out of all the Super Bowl runs the 90-93 Bills had, the 92 squad was the closest thing for them to a Cinderella team and it all started with this historic game, which STILL stands as the largest comeback in NFL history (regular season or playoffs). *EDIT:* Until 2022

A Super Bowl win the year after would have undone that, though. It's because they lost to a KC team they should have beaten that Adams decided to strip the team down to nothing and destroyed any good will in Houston

That's why the challenge flag was created--if it had been around at this time, the Oilers WOULD have used it here...

When the music changed in a NFL Primetime highlight, it meant two things: 1. The highlight was very long 2. The game was special

After the Vikings just came back from a *33-0* deficit against the Colts, this is no longer the biggest comeback!

"The result is a touchdown, if you don't see it." For anyone who was wondering whether the 'largest comeback in NFL history' really was legit because of this missed penalty, worry no more. Today (12/17/2022), the Vikings had _TWO DEFENSIVE TOUCHDOWNS CALLED BACK,_ one of which gave possession _back to the Colts,_ and _still_ pulled off a 33-point comeback. No missed calls.

This game largely killed the pure run and shoot offense in the NFL as we knew it because it had no way to effectively milk the clock and rest the defense towards the end!
@chrisuncleahmad4 ай бұрын
Which is ironic because they had Lorenzo White who ran for 1,226 yards in 1992. (Yes even the Run and Shoot had a 1000 yard RB)

This game didn't sell out and as a result, it was blacked out in Western NY and Southern Ontario. The game was carried on radio by WBEN-930 with the late Van Miller calling the play by play.
