Thanks - I really appreciate that someone has done a video like this. There are some fairly expensive brands such as Wurth and some more mid priced ones like bosch etc. But you have to fairly actively search for them because there are such a limited variety of them out there. Awesome for automotive purposes.

The Wurth looks like exactly what Id want! Naturally having trouble finding it for purchase in the US

Those Chapman hex drivers are designed to be used with their proprietary bits that have an integrated ball detent to keep them from falling out. As you point out, they can be used with standard bits also.

I do maintenance for a chain of gas station/convenience stores and use the little TITAN on a regular basis. I carry it on my edc tool pouch. I love it.

That unbranded one is made by Lang tools, formerly Kastar. They made them for the truck brands as well as for sears / Craftsman. They're no longer offered with the Craftsman name printed on the red rubber grip, but you can still get them from Lang with an orange grip. Btw there's actually a Mac BWFQ5 flex head bit ratchet where the head and handle both flex, they've got some other flex head bit ratchets including a locking flex but this ones the coolest. My only problem with this is paying tool truck prices for what I'm pretty sure is made in Taiwan, I'll only buy tools made in China or Taiwan if they're just super inexpensive.

Thanks for the heads up. I found a Kastar marked one on eBay to add to my arsenal!

You might check out the GearWrench 6 and 12-in flex head versions. I have the 12-in version, and it's pretty nice, although I think the 6-in one might be best for me for most purposes.

Titan made a flex head mini ratchet and they also have a swivel mini ratchet as well.

GearWrench 1/4 , 5/16” 35 piece set , metric , imperial sockets and bits . $20.00 Amazon . Klein 1/4” finger ratchet p/n 65200 with 5 bits . $16.00 Amazon . Both of Taiwan manufacture . Ratchets of forged head design . 66/23

The titan is the EXACT same as my silver eagle I got in a set with a 1/4” ratchet, the commons extensions and a master set of sae/metric sockets deep and shallow. I’m glad I got it for a steal like 8 years ago…

my favourite one are wera , topeak and felo and they are all verry verry nice and not expensive around 20$
@whatfreedom74 жыл бұрын
I prefer the zero degree over all of these. It grips better and no slack. It is a little taller. Or go with the Sunex set which is $20. The sunex is very similar to that titan.

I bought a bill industrial brand off Amazon it's nice
@davesnothere88592 жыл бұрын
the chapman is the industrial standard. They have their own bits with a ball in them so it isn't magnetic. Easily the best

I hate those Yankee ratcheting screwdrivers. All the ones I ever used have lousy bits, and when it has bits back-to-back like the one you showed (which is all I've ever seen), you often can't get the thing in where you need it because the other bit is in the way. Wera makes a really nice ratchet that the bits fit into, so the rachet itself has a profile which is smaller than the bit is long, and the two things together are only a bit wider than the bit's length, and it has a nice action.

Yes after looking around online and appears there is a vast array of quarter inch hex ratchets nowadays
@baggins16 жыл бұрын
Catus Maximus Comment was meant to indicate not a lot of quality options I've seen anywhere. I'd like to have a high resolution small form factor for getting in super tight places. Vette I'm working on for instance. Or better engineers at GM.

Take a look at the 'VIM' 1/4 bit ratchet... it's very nice! Ratchet on one end, and a special 1/4" bit box end on the other. Nice spring type bit retainers, and both ends have stops so the bits can't push through. 48 tooth. Total length is about 3 1/2", part number is HBR3. Just looked, under $20.00 on Amazon.
