this was a mother one of your good videoes and a great example as to why i enjoy your channel when it comes to extensions and U iversals plus adapters IMO you can’t have enough of them with so many options it will help you get out of some strange situations i am a retired Woodworker by trade but some of my interests has been general Maintenance ,British car restoration,Motorcycles mostly Antique , and Jetskis all,of which i perform almost all the maintenance ,repairs , and Service ironically with several sets of 1/4” nut drivers and a good selection of extensions like you have i have gotten to some oddly located nuts and bolts on my projects some of which i remember the most was replacing Hoses and Hose Clamps on a 1964 Chris Craft CabinCruiser i restored many of which were on the Engines and in the Bilges a few were in the Galley and Head areas , and although that method may be unconventional ? on certain projects you have to do whatever it takes i’ve always joked around claiming to be a 3/8” Socket extensionWhore but that has also gotten me out of many jams over the years it’s funny because in the 1980s i bought 3 of the longest ones Sears carried inthe Craftsman brand and my Dad laughed at me when he saw them in my box the first time because they didn’t fit in the box correctly being 24” long each yet on ertainChevy products you need 2 of those extensions to get a Spark Plug through a hole in the wheel Well and ironically my Dad wound up driving one of those for several years it was a S10 Blazer 6 cylinder and everytime my Dad had to borrow my Extensionsi said not so funny any more he would laugh

Found a Titan screw extension along the highway,it was a bit damaged,I use it along the DeWalt extension.

Try the Bosch daredevil1/4” hex QC extensions. I think you’ll find them to be better than the DeWalt or Irwin.

good review. My irwans (older style) jams up all the time. Like even when its brand new. Frustrating. Anyone found any fixes for it? I lubricate them. Still gets stuck and cannot take the bit off.

I've had that happen sometimes and quick-release adapters usually they just break in after a while sometimes you have to fiddle with the little snap rings and take them apart because there's a burr or something

Yes cheap quarter inch quick release fall apart quite easily I've also noticed that it many work just great until you use them a lot with an impact driver and impact driver seems to beat them to Pieces but that is why I made this review because these units seem to be quite durable and high-quality

I need to get some extensions I only have the short magnetic bit holder and maybe a 3 inch sleeved extension plenty of bits also have a cheap flex extension but it's even cheaper than the harbor freight need to get 6" and 12" and good flex. How do you like the Tekton?

The extensions I reviewed here are Titan and they seem to work out okay out of all the Irwin products that I dislike I kind of like these early extensions because they have three little teeth that grab the bits and are pretty secure

DeWalts 887 puts out about 325 foot pounds of torque on speed 3

Those bits will do better in a regular drill they're not socket bits though so they wouldn't snap and break on you Well I'm glad i done my test with the dewalt impact drill cause now i know its useless to me i can't do any of my small engine work with it I'm not gonna even try after on the first test the socket extension broke. Now I have to buy a real impact drill that'll get the job done and those extensions don't break because I've used them before

Nice video, maybe you can help me: Im looking for those extension bit holder but I want to use it with double end bit. Do you know any of those extension can work with double end bits? So i can use one bit and flip it when I need.

It's very difficult to find any holders that will work with the double ended bits because they don't have any noxious to get locked in and they need extra depth to compensate. The Irwin ones are most likely to work do the way they have a 3-prong retainment system

I had a chance to check the Irwin and it didnt work. I know that Milwaukee have one that works with double end bit and its 3", 6" and 12"

Those all have a weak point right at the spot you plug into the drill they're all not really real impact tools because they'll break just like the one I just got today did and tested it out it broke after tightening the hex screw head back in the tool bit broke and the small piece was stuck in the drill I done the test just to see if they'll work on my projects and they wont those are all made an cut the same as my socket impact bits and I can see they'll break to mine wouldn't lock in they just slid in and would fall right out They'll all break if your playing with hex/allen screw heads. I was surprised to see my new tool socket bit break earlier today on the first test go. The weak point is on the part you plug into the drill they all need to be made with a straight piece of metal and not cut around the part towards the bottom I think the places that make all those know that's a weak point and they know they'll break they're and the person has to keep going buying new ones Those wouldn't break screwing deck screws in or out but the socket bit or extensions will i done a test and it did. So i just need a impact drill up better than dewalt they're drills just fine but the socket extensions suck for it I'm gonna give my dewalt back to who gave it to me and buy a real impact drill so the bits won't twist and snap off break one that can handle my projects I'm not gonna deal with those cheap things twisting breaking on me while I'm trying to do my stuff outside so if I had used my small socket extension on my transmission with male head torx screws the extension would have broke on me those screws are factory tight on there to and I'm not counting on those extensions to work So dewalts impact drill is only good for wood screws and wood it cant do engine work so the drill ain't gonna do me any good it can't put a nut back on without breaking the socket extension

@@lukerafferty3463 one you use with a ratchet would work the best it would be a solid piece. Now when I use the regular ones like those ones on the video I'm worried it'll break while I'm using it just because of how they're made the one I had just bought shouldn't have broke off it was good steel it wasn't cheap metal but was made wrong like all those ones are they made them so they'll break Or that drill isn't made for heavy work
