Beautifully explained, thank you. I learned a lot there. I changed my filter recently and did not know about the water purge knob. I wondered what it was for. Thanks again. 😁

I love your videos and you explain everything very well. Please keep these amazing tip videos coming. This diesel engine and the diesel 2.0 HDI engines are really great reliable engines if cared for like you do 👍

I change mine every year now as it has clogged up two times and I’ve had to manually prime the little rubber pump on top of the engine to get home. Interesting to see inside one. Thanks for the video 👍
@moremolecules2 жыл бұрын
That is what I do as well, change ot every year. Depending on the quality of fuel once it starts clogging then it is almost certain that it will pass smaller sized particles along to the injectors and they are on the expensive side of things.

Great video as always, Question - do you know how to bleed the fuel lines/system. I have a 1.6hdi Peugeot partner 2016.
@moremolecules2 жыл бұрын
If there is a rubber bulb on the top of the engine you bleed it through there, if there is not one, it is probably self-bleeding.

please answer: where is the fuel pump inlet fitting located? on top or on bottom on the high pressure fuel pump?
@swervyworld9 ай бұрын
I am trying to drain water from my fuel filter on my 2007 Peugeot Partner 1.6 HDI. On turning the tap, it makes some gurgling sounds but no liquid comes out! Could it be there is a vacume created inside the pump that prevents anything coming out? Should I disconnect a hose? Or do it with the engine running? I can not find any videos or internet instructions about draining water from the fuel filter while the filter is connected. Any advice is appreciated.
@moremolecules9 ай бұрын
Is this the top screwing nut that one needs to undo? How much do you open it? I have never drained mine as I generally replace it, but if there is any water it should come from the bottom. It is a bit weird that you have gurgling noises. So, with the top bit screwed tight, upon pumping the big buld on top of the engine to remove air in the system, then opening the screw on top, do you get no water/diesel coming out?

If you put a water sensor additionaly does it has to be programmed in order to recognize the sensor Greetings and nice videos as always
@moremolecules2 жыл бұрын
Yes, if you install it additionally you need to program it with Diagbox or Lexia (Citroen) and PP2000 (Peugeot): kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnKrmnmKdt6UaKc Can be installed, but the ECU will not see it if not programmed and alert you for the water in diesel.

Hi! Is there a significant difference between expensive and cheap fuel filters? What can you tell about Purflux filter?
@moremolecules Жыл бұрын
There was a study on cheap vs. expensive fuel filterand it was quite shocking how much stuff they leak through. Mainly it was when the valve opens to let stuff flow through, the cheap ones at much less pressure. I cannot find it at the moment, but it was quite revealing. I would not myself buy a cheap filter. Unfortunately, I have no info to go on for the purflux filter.

Where does the air come out when you fill the new empty filter with the priming pump?

The air goes back to the fuel tank

@@moremoleculesThank you. But where does is exit the filter housing? 😊
@norm424211 ай бұрын
People say the engine performs better after a fuel filter change, but i don't see how, as the fuel filter holds about 500ml of fuel, so for the filter to be clogged the engine would deplete the fuel inside the filter it would cut out. There's no real inbetween state of performance. I change mine every few years, just to protect the injectors.
@moremolecules11 ай бұрын
I replace it every service I do. It does not add that much to the overall bill. Never noticed any improvement. Maybe the fuel pump will have a better life with not so clogged filter, but I suspect that depends on how many times people leave the tank nearly empty and from the sloshing around picking up the dirt from the bottom. I thin kI have gone only once with the light coming on to say it is nearly empty. I hate running low, all sorts of problems with that, especially the dirt that is down there.

Çok faydalı oldu maf sensörü ne ile temizleyin faydası nedir Türkçe açıklamalı cevap verirsen sevinin tesekkurler
@moremolecules2 жыл бұрын
MAF sensor measure the amount of air coming in, sometime sit gets dirty from say oil spray from the crankcase breather and gives false reading, so cleaning it might help. Dirty MAF might give you rough idle, poor starting, etc.

Hi MM! I am pondering on buying an oil catch can for my Citroen C3 1.4 hdi since there is always oily muck collecting in the intake and coating the sensors in oil mist. What was your final verdict on the OCCs? I see it is not present on your Partner in your latest video, thats why i'm asking :)
@moremolecules2 жыл бұрын
The OCC is not present in the last video because about that time of the year I have an annual inspection (MOT) and they view an OCC as modification to the emissions components in the car. So, they will fail the car based on tampering with emissions, despite this being a reduction in emissions. So, I remove it to go through the testing and then depending on what I am doing it passes some time before I re-instate it. Overall, I am more than happy with my OCC, only problem is that I need to empty that hose too often, depending on humidity and driving. Otherwise, the provent 200 is good, but I have no data or anything else to say which is more efficient.
@MT-rc3gn2 жыл бұрын
@@moremolecules Thank you for your input! I went with the generic oil catch can (one of the ones you did a crankcase pressure test with) to avoid the problem with the ProVent 200 which is that you really need an extra reservoir to avoid draining the hose every other day. Will try to stuff the OCC somehow with kitchen fan filter material and see how that works. Let's hope the engine doesnt explode from crankcase pressure ☠
@moremolecules2 жыл бұрын
@@MT-rc3gn It should be alright as long as there is not additional crankcase pressure from the engine. Say if you engine is already a bit on the worn side, the OCC will add a bit more.

Brother i run out of fuel on 1,6hdi and not starting and shows Water in diesel filter , what to do ?
@moremolecules Жыл бұрын
Do you have a rubber pump on top of the engine. If yes, squeeze this a lot of times unitl you hear fuel going back to the tank and it is hard. That should do it. If you do not have one, it should be automatic, but you may need to put a rubber bulb in the fuel line.

Is it possible to mount the fuel lines wrong?

It will be a bit difficult, as the pipes are rather awkwardly twisted and only go one way, but probably can be swapped, but difficult.
