Loving my squire with HSS stock pickups... The humbucker in the bridge is extremely aggressive for no reason but I love it, you can play all the 80's Dokken style bands no problem. The best tone is when you combine the H with S (2nd position). the rest of the pick ups is good too, you get that classic Stratocaster-ish single coil vibe. Of course they're not perfect you can get much better tone from professional pickups, but they will cost you the price of the whole guitar. Though these stock pick ups get the job done and most of the audience won't even notice they're cheap. One last thing: the woods.. they're amazing comparable to real Fender guitars, honestly it's the best neck I've ever touched even comparing to other guitars I've played that cost more than 1K in €. There's nothing on the market that gives you so much quality for that price

I'd say it's not so much a scam as "diminishing returns." Your amp, speakers and pickups always do the heavy lifting, everything else only adds tiny differs that few people will notice, particularly in hard rock and metal, where the distortion and other effects hides many sins. But you'll notice the differences tonewood makes on acoustic instruments and cleaner electric sounds. Basically, if you're going to play mostly distorted, invest in a good amp and save on the guitar.

You’d be amazed at the high gain tones that can be gotten out of a single coil - it can take a bit more gain on the amp end, and leads to a bit more noise, but is so worth it - a super unique metal rhythm guitar tone, for sure

I wasn’t watching the video and could hear differences. I’m pretty sure Glen thinks guitars are supposed to sound wildly different from each other. As if it’s different instruments. The differences are subtle but make a big difference in a mix. Glen wouldn’t know that because his ear for mixing isn’t good
@RobbDizzl
@RobbDizzl Жыл бұрын
They all sound similar and the average audience could not tell the difference, but "nearly identical, to an indistinguishable level"? Skip between them and there are differences. And the more you dive into a topic the more small things matter. Also, since when is it the point to pick a guitar out of a croud just by listening?

@@adriansoul7223 PRS deserves hate for comparing solid-body electric guitars and acoustic violins as if there were any useful similarities, and saying that it stands to reason solid "tonewood" guitar bodies are a good idea because "the instrument matters." That proves that the guitar's tone it's made by the amp, the cab and your style of playing, not what kind of guitar you are playing to. The mics, as Glenn Flicker said, if they're similar (humbuckers vs humbuckers), the difference is barely audible but not that you can distinguish right away between them. But the Squier, with those single coils, proves that, in this case, a solid approach, a really solid performance as Ola has, can make all type of guitars sound pretty equal.

The Skervesen sounded the best to me. Tight low end that hit hard but still full and not harsh in the high end

The Charvel is sick i can't do a single coil neck, but damn...I know its a custom, I would rout the neck & put in a Seymour Duncan pearly gate.

@@spy-v-spy1848 You wouldn't have to route the neck area of the body, under that Pickguard is a H-S-H route all you would need to do is get a HH pickguard from Warmoth. If you do not believe me watch the video here on YT called "FU-Tone PMS and Reverse Slant Pickup Mod In a Charvel Henrik Danhage" It shows you under the PG in that vid 🤘
