This was very informative and the only constructive criticism I can share is that lab created isolated compounds are not foods, much like the dyes you mentioned. I use food source, because the isolated compounds are entirely different than real food. For instance, a dash of coconut water in your solution for added sugar and potassium instead of overly processed bleached sugar and synthetic potassium. You can also buy organic coconut sugar that takes very little processing to make if coconut water isn’t convenient enough. Here is an example of how things are different when we attempt to manufacture isolated compounds, which is different entirely than trying to isolate compounds in foods. In 1977 we started making citric acid synthetically, part of the process involves washing corn starch in acetone. This is far different than citric acid made from actual citrus even though molecularly they look so much alike.

That DIY hydration fluid recipe is something we are taught to make as kids in school in my country. Since it's a third world country and water borne diseases are very common in this area that hydration fluid recipe saves tons of lives every year especially in rural areas. So, the curriculum strictly provides the recipe in every grades in elementary school and we are taught to make that in school. So that, those children can provide the recipe whenever someone gets cholera, diarrhea or dysentery. That recipe I will never forget even if I lose my memory, lol!

FYI 'Black Strap Molasses' is a natural sweetener naturally high in potasium, magnesium and iron, also has some sodium. It's the discarded byproduct of making refined table sugar from the sugar cane plant. So it's a much healthier alternative to refined sugar. It's not as sweet so as you use more you get more of the mentioned minerals. About 2-3 teaspoons per cup of water for desired sweetness. I use it every day in lemon water and hot drinks. The magnesium also helps you poo. 10/10 highly recommend.

I made mine without the potassium salt cause I didn't have it on hand, but it really does taste like coconut water. How fascinating. I think it's the hint of sweet and the mouthfeel of the baking soda. Thanks so much for doing this research and sharing with us. I usually drink a sports drink when I'm feeling bad, but they have high fructose corn syrup and I was trying to find an alternative. I'll need to get my hands on the potassium salt, but I'm sure I can get the potassium from the food I eat. I have been drinking so much water and it just didn't feel like it was doing anything. I got lucky this popped up.

~ Reverse osmosis water is dead water that will kill plants, as was proven by a famous experiment done by a highschool girl about fifteen years ago. She had several different kinds of plants growing in pots, some of which were garden vegetable plants, some of which were flowering plants, etc. in two separate but identical groups. She watered one group with spring water and the other group with reverse osmosis water, and within a month the plants getting the spring water were flourishing and the plants getting the reverse osmosis water died. You may still be able to find that video online.

I learned from another youtuber that "Natural Flavours" is a deceptive term. It (apparently) can be used for an flavour where a certain proportion/part of it is derived from nature (e.g. plant, animal) but then (apparently) other stuff can be added to it, with the label still saying "natural flavours". Essentially, it's something that needs to be avoided just as much as "artificial flavours".

Yes, I have been a victim of natural flavors. I drank a certain beverage with natural flavors every day for 10 years . My body must have reached a saturation point, because one day, the flavors were coming out in my tongue, my nose & even my underarms. It was like this 24 hrs a day, until I found out what caused it. After that I have been avoiding natural flavors and the problem slowly subsided. But it distorted my sense of taste to this day. This was 3 years ago.

Absolutely an affordable game-changer plus it doesn't give me the awful side effects you mentioned like with those artificial sweeteners (I've *a l w a y s* gotten gut problems and pain from them and was failing at trial and error trying to afford and find brands that worked). The critical components are magnesium and potassium. Oh, and there is sodium. I started using electrolyte with flavourings but they really messed up my water bottles by growing some interesting (yuk) cultures over time. I found concentrate bottle a couple of years later and then "elete" brand in UK a year later. The "elete" brand is available in my local grocery store. My daughter and son-in-law went Paleo and convinced me to kind of go more that direction. It doesn’t feel right for me and I’m a type a blood type but so is my daughter. I’m going to go back more to, but my Vedic consultant recommended. One of the things was a really good chickpea, salad with quinoa, cucumbers, and peppers and onions and olive oil, and lemon and garlic. She recommended that I have salmon twice a week and no other animal protein. But she didn’t recommend beans. But I like beans. Thank you so much for your informative video. I just found you and look forward to checking out the rest of your things. I get dehydrated very quickly and get cramps in my legs and then my feet. I know some of it comes from having screws in my big toes from a botched bunion surgery which throws off my walking, but I know I feel dehydrated pretty frequently and use hydration things daily. I’m thinking it could be the more meat, protein, and the xylitol and dairy I’ve been eating and to be honest, probably too much ice cream. Could eating more sugar, cause dehydration and muscle cramps?

Stop being plant based unless there is a medical reason. Plant based nutrients have poor bioavailability and conversion rates to other nutrients unless they are paired with animal products. Plant based/vegetarian/vegan diets lack a variety of nutrients including collagen, b-12, heme iron, vitamin d, vitamin d, taurine, etc. Veggies, grains, nuts, legumes, and seeds are laden with antinutrients that interfere with mineral uptake. When you are menopausal you need more protein, and as we get older, we are prone to losing muscle mass unless you weight train and consume enough animal based protein. Prepare to lose more hair, have osteoporosis, poor gut health, rotten teeth/tooth loss and a host of other issues if you don't. If you haven't visited a dentist recently, I suggest you do ASAP.

@judiellal97942 ай бұрын
@jdbailey442 I don't know what credentials you have as far as nutritional knowledge, but please withhold advising people until you have done adequate research into plant based/vegetarian diets. Yes, it's true that some "plant based nutrients" have "some" poor bioavailability, but unless you're deriving your knowledge from 30, 40 years ago, there's been tremendous research done addressing micronutrients and how to have a complete and healthy diet of plants, fruits, seeds, legumes, grains, etc. I'm a decades long Pescotarian, meaning I include some fish, and exclude red meats, pork and chicken. Btw, I am past menopause, in my late 60s, don't have osteoporosis, gut health is great, have all my hair and teeth. I've been a Pescotarian for 20 years; before that, I was a Vegetarian since I was 21. What research has discovered is that by combining certain foods in a meal, the micronutrients are optimized. I don't need to go into the nitty gritty details, so I suggest you read the 2021 WHO (World Health Organization) paper on plant based diets and the bioavailability of micronutrients. Honestly, it's best to talk to your PCP and get a referral for a credentialed nutritionist. That way, they can assess your health concerns and advise you on plant based diets.

The best protein powder just needs 2 ingredients and is 80% protein with all the essential amino acids. The 2 ingredients are: French Golden Pea Protein Isolate, and Brown Rice Protein. I get mine unflavoured because flavoured ones nearly always have synthetic sugars and flavours. Can add your own sweetener or even cocao powder at home to it. Personally I've grown accustomed to the raw flavour, it's inoffensive, it just tastes like plain rice blended into a smoothie. Need a shaker that has a powder breaking up insert to get it blended manually. Many of the powders that blend from just stiring will have chemical anti caking agents added, so a powder caking is a healthy sign. I'm in Australia and get the brand Pure Product directly from their website. Not sure of other brands sorry. Best of luck!

She says the WHO recommends: jar of plain water, sugar (she uses organic), iodinized salt, baking soda, and potassium salt substitute. Such as Walgreen electrolyte drink which has (as she recommends) no artificial dyes or additives. She shows herself making similar one ingredient at a time. To dissolve it well she says you may need to warm it up or stir then wait. Looks like she used glass which is of course healthier than plastic. She said it tastes kinda like coconut water and saltier taste than Pedialyte. Hydration and electrolytes are important for when losing fluids, she says, such as sweating, diarrhea, vomiting. And/or not eating enough food. Some other ways to hydrate (fluid + electrolyte) she says: Animal- or plant-based broth (both have sodium). Coconut water (high in potassium as are beans, leafy greens, fruit juice).

You must be a Tick Tocker, or Life Hacker. Learn to use chapters, rather than insult someone willing to give those of us who lack access to health care high quality advice. Do you think her time is free ? Some of us appreciate being treated like adults that learn, rather than buy into every life hack without understanding.
