I don’t know if anyone else commented, but I think the squeaky sound is in between the pods. If you take sand paper in between each pod and move it back and forth a bit , it gets rid of the glossy stuff and should stop the squeaky sound. I had to do it with my On Cloud surfers as well. Should work:)

My daughter has OC shoes, she works in Healthcare. I'm going to try the emery cloth fix. Just get a long piece of emery cloth from hardware store and run it back and forth through the last 4 holes on the sole of the shoe. Make sure you rub the upper part of the hole as well as the lower/bottom part of the hole to fix the squeaking.

The squeak was driving me nuts! Like you others could hear so I went to KZbin and found the solution and that is to file or sand paper every hole! Finally went away but I’m not buying anymore if I have to sand paper every hole!

I love these shoes but did get some sound after I washed them. I don't think the speed board has anything to do with it it's coming from the Helion rubber slots compressing. I used some wd40 lightly between them and it stopped completely. The only durability wear area for me after 250+ miles was some wear thru on the top of the heel collar. Other than that they wear well.

Yes I have the same problem! It’s so annoying. I emailed the place I bought them from and they said they wouldn’t do anything about it. I have gone from Hoka to On Running and I love them. Do you think they are better than the Cloud Monster?

Sand paper between the pods lightly will stop the squeak. The pods rub up against each other and the gloss is what causes it, I believe.

For me the "squeak" is coming from the midsole then one of the “cloud” pod collapses. I found putting a little powder in there made it go away.

Same problem. The spaces or "holes" in the sole, especially in the heel and mid-foot areas, can cause rubber/foam parts to rub against each other. This is annoying.

I have the same issue with the squeeking, just developed after 30 miles. Quite annoying as the shoe is quite comfortable. I need to decide to return, or get into the WD-40 and/or sandpaper fixes for the holes, as I only have two days left in the return window.

I’ve got about 100 miles on my Eclipses and they squeak exactly like that. I think I’m going to take them out of my shoe rotation because of it. The Mount to Coast R1 is incredible feeling too if you haven’t tried those. Topo Atmos too.

I bought my usual size in these. Weirdly i find the toebox too shallow and my toes a bit numb - something I've never had before.. changed lacing and then insoles out for something thinner.. But wished i'd sized up! However not seen anyone/review mention this issue at all. Agree the lockdown is a bit weird, tried a few different lacings. Didn't notice it being too loud when running to be honest.

I have the same issues with my OC and their return policy is trash. I absolutely LOVE the comfort of the On Clouds. Even better than my Hokas, but the squeaking is a major issue.

Kind of had my heart set on these, tried them on today and it was between this and the Clifton 9. Found the eclipse very wide in the same area you pointed out. Combined with the potential sound issue and I’ll likely grab the Clifton 9. Great review

I thought about buying the new cloud eclipse, as it gives me great comfort with the midsole cushioning. but the sound itself should have to resolve. or I should have to block them all with earplug.

@@DaveTheRunner If you cut the apple and rub the two sides against each other, there is no sound. If a gel like Liquid form a thin film, and fibrous tissue at the bottom of it can hold them, it may works.

the durability of the (frimer)foam should be better despite the parts between the cut outs. There happens more wear than without cut outs. hope you get it. will try this shoe i guess

Use sand paper between the pods to get rid of a little bit of the glossy film and it should stop. I’ve had to do that with both pairs

Have you tried any of the options to fix the squeak yet? WD, emery, or powder? I mean, some of these has to work, right? Either way, just bought an cloudeclipse too and I hope I don't face this issues.. Also seems to be a major issue related to the landing and people's weight.

If your not a heel striker you won't have a problem. It's the first 4 clouds starting from the heel that rub to each other. That's what causes the squeaking. Rub some sandpaper in it and it will be gone . The newer cloudsurfer trail has already updated clouds . The interior from the clouds is more ruffed up.

Sandpaper did not work. I sprayed silicon based water proof wd40 lubricant into gaps and it stop squeak at least for now. Will have to see for how long

It are the lugs . The internal side from the pods rub together when it's under pressure. The problem started with the cloudsurfer 7 . If you look the the inside of the cloud from the cloudsurfer TRAIL the clouds are differently made . I have the cloudsurfer 7 and I'm getting crazy from the squeaking. I have the trail edition also and after 700 km the shoe is almost at his end but they never squeaked for a second. It's a fantastic shoe . I'm thinking that the next cloudsurfer road edition also gonna be updated. By the way. You can fix the squeaking by rubbing some sandpaper in the holes .

Literally have the exact same issue, I have the exact same colour way also. I got in touch with ON through their customer services and filled out a warranty claim, they have refunded me the full amount I paid. HOWEVER, they are annoyingly the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn, but like you I can’t wear them casually now. Torn whether to buy another pair as these cloud eclipse are meant to be the most comfortable ones to wear in their range.

Is this similar to superblast? I am looking to buy ON shoe but still indecisive between cloudsurfer and cloudeclipse. Fyi. I already have newbalance 1080v13 and superblast. My daily pace is 7-8 min/kilo (like to go slow)and my weight is 125 lbs. Which one you recommend or do you have any other options?

I haven’t worn the superblast sorry! Cloud surfer will be softer and less responsive so depends what you’re after really.

I loved the shoes for the first few days, but then the most annoying squick appeared. Same as what you have. They are unwearable now. Hate the sound, you hear them mile away and sound most annoying. Epic fail by ON! Every step is squick squick squick no matter how you step
