Amazed at how you have such complicated subjects and still manage to incorporate them into an environment. Love your work 💛

Gorgeous background on the lightning strike piece and the drapery. Cloth is so difficult to get to look right and it looks just so voluptuous and velvety in that piece. You continue to inspire as always. Please don't ever stop being you in your artwork.

Thank you! I used to be very intimidated by backgrounds but am trying to get better at them. Cloth is indeed very hard, so I was quite happy with my attempt, glad you liked it! :)

I love that you share the reality of how things go, the good AND bad of it all. I also really appreciate how you discuss working not just efficiently but also healthily! I think our world today is so focused on productivity that we forget that we are only humans who need to take care of both or mental and physical health before work. Health should always be a priority.

The first layers I lay on the canvas are in my opinion my least favorite but it is so fascinating to see an image come together as the process keeps going!

Hello Myriam! Just letting you know that you're process, the "growing pains" (as you so incredibly phrased it), and the lows that you show in your recent videos really resonate with me. I'm an actor, and have been for the past year since I've been out of high school. I always catch myself prepping for and doing self-tapes and auditions where I sometimes go too far into it and not let myself breathe. Hearing you talk about letting work breathe by itself for a moment has really made me reflect on how I've been going about my acting. I also, much like you've said, plan a bit too much beforehand only to find my plate too full once I do the doing--too many auditions and self-tapes, I miss some and enter late (unprofessional!). Things to work on!--things I'm conquering and getting over! Seeing you go through it very much like I am definitely helps me, personally and artistically. I'm sure I'm not alone here, but I love seeing your full process, doubts and all--it makes me love your pieces more because I know how much thought and effort gets put into them. Anyways, much love :)

Seeing this really makes me feel a lot better about how much time it takes me to make art, especially since I admire your art so much. I often get upset with myself for things taking too long instead of just enjoying the process.

Love this! Cram culture in art is so dangerous both to mental and physical health. I’m GLAD you showed yourself making that decision. It’s a powerful example for others.

Beautiful work - I've only started getting back into art recently (haven't done it since I was a teen) and the still lifes were getting uninspiring. Your paintings have such a vibrant, creative and thoughtful energy to them...really makes me excited to paint!! As someone who struggles with grounds, I was fascinated by how you brought together the ground so well in 'Struck'. I'd love to see a tutorial on how you make convincing natural grounds like that!

You are such a delight! Your paintings are full of dismembered people, organs and entrails, and all the insides showing on the outside, BUT using a black widow is too much. That has such a beautiful symmetry to it.

@@myriamtillson I got out of school in the mid 1980s, before the internet or digital art was invented. In class I had gone from one assignment to another, trying to make my images stunning in some memorable way, and in doing so, often resorted to dark and violent imagery, without much thought or foresight about how that would affect my "brand". After showing my art/design portfolio around town I took a job at a small company, and a few days into it one of the managers came to meet me and said. "I really wanted to meet you. They told me the new art guy is totally obsessed with death...." and I was like, "whaaaaaat? Who? ME? Really? No way!" I thought I was the nicest guy ever, i just wanted my art to "stand out". But I stepped back and thought about the stuff in my book, and had to admit that it came off as quite disturbed, maybe even "sick", and I had made zero effort to tone it down. I was just way too close to it to notice. It made me wonder how much opportunity I had scared off, vs who I had impressed and why. I NEVER thought of myself as obsessed with death or violence, BUT I did like to draw that kind of stuff. Couldn't see the forest for the trees.

Love your art Myriam; has been an inspiration ever since I´ve followed you on Instagram a year ago. But in addition to that now I also can learn a lot about how to do Vlogs and timelapse. I´ve started doing art videos myself but the room to improve is beyond great. So your videos are also really helpful in that regard too:) If I had to ask a question something: Did you have problems at first in front of a camera and if so what would be your advice as how to overcome that?^^ cause im pretty insecure about my voice and all Anyway, keep it up, I love what you are doing!!
