Another practice video this week.
It's an example of what i do in practice to try and get in that relentless rhythm of potting balls. The challenge is to stay switched on for all of the session. Harder than it looks #snooker #snookercoaching #snookerplayer

Hi MIchael , I have come across your channel a few months back and have to say this is the best channel that is present on the internet for the snooker geeks out there. The stuff I learnt just by watching on the channel would have taken me another 5 years of my time spent on the table. Appreciate what you are doing for us. Not my place but I feel the content you are providing is mainly towards intermediate snooker players rather than the beginners due to which the subscribers aren't increasing at a rate as this channel deserves. I think the strategy on which content can find the most subscribers need to be thought again imo. But as an intermediate player I have no complains but I just feel you can easily hit 200K subs with a content that all players appreciate. Hope to see you back on tour mate

@@MichaelHoltSnookerCoaching Please dont get me wrong but content for beginners as in what viewers would love to watch. I know you are not doing to become as a KZbinr but in case if you are , the most popular ones are always the recreating popular shots , mainly stuff that's a bit numb and easy to understand. To attract viewers the content should be more entertaining than informative , as of now yours is more of latter. But as i said you are still a snooker player rather than entertainer😁

If you are talking about instructional videos for the beginners it would be good to cover things like do's and don'ts. It's more about mechanics. You may have some of the content but things Grip strength Not dropping your shoulder (a big one many miss) How to get through the ball How to check you hit the centre of the ball (dead stop stun shot with red over the whole, then progressively increase distance to red) How to sight up the shot How to keep your head down (don't move until the ball is in the pocket,/stopped rolling) Pause (say a word in your head before striking) Also any good books or tips on mental strength (good for all levels) Love your videos, keep them coming buddy.

I think he is still one of the best player on the tour. Always felt underachieved, but as he said he doesn't have the bottle and this game isn't ideal if you can't control your nerves. Tournaments are tough and it takes a great skill to emulate what you do on practice table. But I still feel he is hungrier than ever, hopefully he wins one more title.

I don't usually complain about missing a pot with a kick unless it's one of those totally outrageous rip off ones that straighten the object ball, it's usually the denial of position that makes me use the King's English inappropriately 🤪 PS: I'm in the Ronnie and Judd camp, not only do I like leaving chalk fairies on the cloth, I also refuse to pay extortionate money for a block of chalk. Couldn't give a stuff if it was self potting.

stance related question? does the leading leg has to have angle ? i am not talking about the foot but the entire leg , i know some players have straight and some has bent legs , but my question is about the leg angle , does it have to be vertical straight or or like ladder when leaning to a wall? im confused thank you very much in advance
@MichaelHoltSnookerCoaching
@MichaelHoltSnookerCoaching 9 ай бұрын
It doesn’t matter. You do not pot or miss balls because of your feet. It’s irrelevant where your feet are. Just get comfortable. Thats it. 😃 Take a look at this… 36 shots. 36 different stances. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oV6YmaBujqmLaJY

I know it's not important here but it is interesting how spotting a ball with precision is not so easy; at 4:42 you place the pink maybe 2mm to the left of the line of red balls then at 5:03 about the same but to the right. Quite a considerable difference. I've seen referees really trying quite hard to get pink or black on the line of spots - and clearly failing.

Hi, I’m new to your channel 👋. Can I ask, as you deliver the cue you seem to start off really slow then strike the ball. I assume it’s intentional but can I ask why you do it?
@MichaelHoltSnookerCoaching
@MichaelHoltSnookerCoaching 9 ай бұрын
Hello, hope you like it and stay. It’s just the way I start my follow through, it’s not a thing I do consciously. It doesn’t matter because the only thing that effects the shot is the contact point (10th of a sec) on the white, as long as the cue tip gets to that point at the right speed the shot will be made. 👍
