Cliffe is someone who actually took his time to get to know God, I really love learning from him because he help me to understand hope and faith better.
@tianzi495 күн бұрын
Cliffe is a circular debater based on "because of what the Bible says.". The Bible has been debunked as unreliable as to who actually wrote it and the consistency in its message. The Bible, especially the New Testament, has been altered and revised so many times by the central authorities in Rome that one cannot truly decipher its original message. The Old Testament's views on slavery and genocides are viewed as immoral by today's ethicists and people globally. As for Rome's complicity, it is known that Emperor Justinian forbade teachings based on the pre-existence of the soul/ aka Originism, which was prevalent in the early church. Master Yeshua ben Yousef, when asked why a man was born blind, replied it was not because of the sins of his father but that he came in that form to glorify God! On another occasion, when the Master asked who do they say that I am, the disciples replied, in essence, that he was the "come again" of certain prophets of old. But Yeshua was only around 30 when all those prophets who were mentioned died of old age and did not look anything like Master Yeshua ... so what does 'come again' mean? ... hmm!
@tianzi495 күн бұрын
And one more thing ... see if there is any historical veracity to the killings of the firstborns under the age of two years of age corroborated by any history? ... maybe not, huh! Also, why did authorities in Rome exclude entirely from the Bible the journey of Master Yeshua's comings and goings between the ages of 13 and 30 years of age ... hmm!

What? He misleads people with the same bad arguments as all theist. (In fact Cliffe's arguments are regularly _worse_ than other theists I watch. Though part of this is that he has conversations with student where they aren't asking tough questions to really challenge his bad arguments -- and often they (the students) make bad arguments themselves, which further skews peoples' impression of who's on the side of truth. I mean they can't help it; they're just students. It's like how I appreciate Atheist Experience (an atheist talk show) but they accept calls from _anyone_ and so you don't often get the strongest possible arguments from the believers who call in; I'm not a fan of that trait of the show, since probably some theists see it the same way I see Cliffe's content).

WOW how awesome. I found these videos a few weeks ago and was going to scroll on by but decided to watch one of the videos!!! Just a few things to comment about…. This man knows how to debate,in a good way. Love how he has an answer for every question that is ask and presents it in a way that doesn’t come off arrogant unlike most of the “kids” that’s asking the questions. If we go back to God’s word you can see when Jesus was in the temple the scribes and Pharisee’s tried so hard to trip him up with all their questions and once again Jesus had a response for all their questions. I noticed where so many of those “kids” as they were presenting their arguments got all flustered and would loose their train of thoughts. I like what Cliffe said about he didn’t want the to take his word for everything, he told them to go and study for themselves which I think is very important that you just don’t take my word but you read and study the scripture. I think some people get saved and then that’s it and they don’t study for themselves the word of God. So as I was growing up I lived in a Christian home I was never forced to believe what my parents believed in. So the argument that when you live in a religious home this is what you believe. For me it was watching from the side lines my dad and his way of believing. Then when I became a teenager I had my own experiences with being saved. I didn’t become a Christian because of my home life I became a Christian by reading the Bible and I TOOK THAT FIRST STEP in becoming a Christian. I guess what I’m trying to say is Cliff’s way of approaching this is that he doesn’t yell or scream he presents his beliefs. We don’t know how many “kids” there actually went back to the dorm room and gave their hearts to the lord. So I don’t think we beat these “kids” up for some of the nonsense they are bringing up. They’re just “Ignorant” of the truth. Some are there just talking to hear their brains rattle. So let’s not loose focus of the reason Cliff is on college campuses. I don’t believe he is there to stir things up in a negative manner. I believe he is doing a great job and will someday be rewarded for that. Let’s remember this scripture. When Agrippa was talking to Paul in Acts 26-28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, “Thou almost persuadest me to be a Christian.” So there are those on campus saying this to Cliff. Yo almost “persuaded” But there are some there that Cliff did persuade to become a Christian.

Shouldn't we be against that? After all he seems to knowingly be spreading a falsehood, right? He doesn't have evidence of a god, for example. @@unfortunatepanda1827 It was a while back, so I don't remember which one. (He basically counts em off on his fingers.) But let's face it: that's basically all theists' arguments. 1. Cosmological is illogical because either everything or not everything has a cause; if everything, then an uncaused god is impossible; but if not everything then a god isn't logically necessary. 2. Order/cosmos (his most common mention) we've already seen why it's wrong (I think I already explained it earlier, right?) 3. Design he doesn't have evidence a god designed anything, so he can't treat any design as evidence of a god (even if he had clear evidence of unexplained design, which he also doesn't have!). 4. Morality is just two baseless claims: that objective morals exist and if they do they're best explained by a god.

I liked the woman at 42:19, and I understand her perspective. I have a friend, a very wise man in his 60s, who is a professor and linguist, but he also studied theology. His view is exactly what Cliffe says: we die, and we become fertilizer-that’s it. He doesn’t involve God in his life, yet he leads a fantastic, meaningful, and happy life. He doesn’t concern himself with anything related to God or religion, and it doesn’t stop him from living well. The point is, if you never knew about the existence of Jesus, the Bible, or any religion, your life wouldn’t be any different.
@slynessD92Ай бұрын
But if someone does the opposite of your friend and is a monster and does things that completely go against him or what they believe is in correct, they would not be wrong or right if there is no God. Thats why i can never be a atheist, because if i believe something to be absolutely true, someone else who has a different view also is equally valid. I.e racism is right because it makes them feel good and happy.
@ChrisMagoroАй бұрын
@@slynessD92 I kindly disagree. If someone does horrible things, we don’t need God to know those are wrong. There are philosophical movements, like Buddhism (just an example), that don’t involve a god, yet their followers can still discern right from wrong. Simple rules like “don’t hurt anyone” and “don’t do to others what you wouldn’t want done to you” are enough. From this perspective, killing is obviously wrong-we don’t need a god to tell us that. In fact, I’d go further: if someone doesn’t know that racism or killing is wrong without invoking God, then we have a serious problem. I didn’t mention this in my previous comment, but I’ll share another example here. When I lived in Indonesia, I had the pleasure of meeting a woman from South Korea. We were part of the same international group learning Indonesian language and culture, and the group included people from various parts of the world with different religions. This woman-let’s call her Ming-came from a family that had been atheist for generations, like the entire village where she lived. They don’t believe in any gods, and religion simply doesn’t come up in conversation for them, just as I wouldn’t typically talk about after-death practices in Western Zambia, since I’m not even aware of any. Ming was genuinely surprised when we discussed religious subjects. She even laughed, noting how many differences there were between us, yet we spent time debating them, whereas in her family and her entire village, religion wasn’t even a topic of discussion. And somehow they all live, care for each other, know right from wrong, and enjoy life. I consider myself a seeker, but the more I explore, the more I lean toward the conclusion that ‘maybe’ it’s not God who created us in His image, but rather we, as humans, who create gods in our image.
