I really appreciate Dashan’s approach to comedy and cross-cultural relationships as he described. He sort of breaks down the idea of “foreigner” vs “native” and help bring a more balanced identity into both cultures. We are one humanity, with slightly different traditions, habits, languages. However, our humanity makes much more similar than different. Second, I was really curious to hear why Dashan’s grandparents went to China in the 1920s. Were they medical missionaries?

Great interview! This should have more views! I am a Mandarin student and was thinking if there was any content on KZbin about Dashan's language learning experience. This was a long recording but I don't regret it one bit. I listened from start to finish and had a great time! Thanks!
