$1 Indonesian Dessert (Roti Bakar Coklat Keju) in Makassar 🇮🇩 | Foreigners try Indonesian food

What is Roti Bakar Coklat Keju? We love exploring new cultures through their foods! Once we got settled into our hotel, we hit the streets in search of dinner and desserts. In this video, we try a variety of dishes at Rumah Makan Sulawesi Baru. We still never figured out what we ordered in the green leaves! It tasted good, though, like a fish tamale! If you know what that is called, please let us know in the comments. After many dishes, we walked the streets to Pantai Losari Beach, found some flashing cars for the kids to ride around in, and then went in search of dessert! We went to several food stalls looking for Pisang Epe, but we didn’t go far enough before we got hungry! We ended up getting this $1 Indonesian Dessert called Roti Bakar Coklat Keju! Watch this video to see what that is and what else we ordered. We had a great time just walking around the city. We felt safe and met lots of nice people.

I'd say limit their sugary snacks and beverages. I have nieces and nephews who liked veggies and all kind of fruits until they got a bit bigger and became picky eaters. They stopped appreciating natural taste. Happened to me the opposite way. I appreciate natural tastes of food more after I limit my sugary snacks and beverages.

Why do I love Indonesia? This is informations. You know, Mother Nature in this country is the mastermind behind major natural disasters that can hit many countries and cause many fatalities, not just 1 or 100 times, but more than that. Example : Tsunami 2004 start from Indonesia impact 20 countries (To Africa). When I was a teenager, at the high school level I always studied and read books about nature in a library located in Europe. I found a book that said "Tambora The Years Without Summer" then also found a book that said "Krakatoa". Both of these books tell about nature and its brutality at the same time. Not only that, in the book it is explained that the incident is located in 1 country but in different regions. Was it the only tragedy that was written by the International? No, there is a lot of history of major natural disasters in Indonesia that are written internationally. I have to be honest when talking about Indonesia, without many people realizing that nature in Indonesia is also very cruel, often raging, abnormal and brutal. Total natural disasters in Indonesia (8 Years Calculation) : >Year 2022 = 1.421 (Period Jan - Jun). >Year 2021 = 3,058 >Year 2020 = 2,925 >Year 2019 = 9,375 >Year 2018 = 3,397 >Year 2017 = 2,341 >Year 2016 = 2,342 >Year 2015 = 1,682 Total natural disasters for 8 years = 26.541 (This is the most violent, brutal and deadly category in the world because of calculations in 1 country, not Chile/Japan). I became very interested in the history recorded by the International and finally I bought a textbook on natural disasters in Indonesia written by European researchers, scientists and historians. It turned out to be much more amazing, that's when I fell in love with nature in Indonesia. This is not only about beauty but also about history which has a huge impact on many countries in the world. Nature in Indonesia is not only beautiful, but also very unique, different, diverse, strange and great. But on the other hand it is also deadly, brutal, often occurs, many casualties and is written in European history. If you know all the volcanoes, rivers, lakes, caves, waterfalls, beaches, mountains, rice fields, forests, wastelands and others in Indonesia (Nature), the nature is very insane. For me personally, a visit to Indonesia is the most memorable for me because I have visited 51 natural tourist attractions. List of natural tourist attractions in Indonesia that I have visited. 1). Krakatoa. (My favorite volcanoes). 2). Tambora. 3). Aceh Museum Tsunami 2004. 4). Weh Island. 5). Lematang Lampung. 6). Ranau. 7). Anyer. 8). Ujung Kulon. 9). Lancang Island Jakarta. 10). Rian North Kalimantan. 11). Yellow Land. (I forgot this name). 12). Mesas Cave. 13). Gamalama. 14). Sulamadaha. 15). Ngurtafur. 16). Kupang. 17). Bali Island. 18). Karang Bolong. 19). Setu Babakan. 20). Bangkalan Madura Island. 21). Limboto. 22). Saronde Island. 23). Bogani Nani Wartabone. 24). Arfak Papua. 26). Jomblang Cave. 27). Karang Taraje Sawarna. 28). Lito Duyonumo. 29). Even on trains, buses, airplanes, and ships, you can see different views from one country. It's really crazy, like going to another country but still in the same country. Imagine in 1 city and even then there are many tourist attractions. What about Indonesia as a whole? Millions of tourist attractions. Therefore, many people misunderstand tourism in Indonesia because it is too much and varied. Then you will find something unique and strange, at least go on 30 different trips to tourist attractions in Indonesia and I am sure you will have a much more extraordinary experience and lasting memories. Did you know if we look at the map of the Indonesia territory, it's like a person / Jinn who sleeps on his back. Sumatra : Feet. Kalimantan : Stomach. Jawa, Bali, Nusa Tenggara : Spine. Sulawesi : Bosom. Maluku : Neck. Papua : Head. Other small islands : Acne. Not only that, Indonesia has more than 500 volcanoes = Active, inactive and underwater. (Overall). QUEEN MOTHER NATURE IN INDONESIA 10/10 (Mother Nature in Indonesia when viewed 100% is very colossal). Nature in Indonesia is really insane very different class categories, there is a saying that says : (Indonesia is the throne Queen Mother Nature). There is even a study that has visited 400 tourist attractions in Indonesia and it is only 10% for him. From Sabang Sumatera to Merauke Papua (in 1 country) is expensive and long distance. It costs the same as you flying from Egypt to Dubai or Jakarta to South Korea or Spain to Belarus. Indonesia was originally not an archipelago but a mainland called SUNDALAND (Western side of Indonesia) and SAHULLAND (Eastern side of Indonesia). However, 70% of the land was sunk into the ocean. I noticed your wife is vegetarian and wanted to recommend a few dishes that are served at nearly all restaurants in Indonesia. Tahu (tofu) goreng (fried) and also tempeh. Very delicious in Indo cuisine. Also I noticed you seem to like peanut sauce so I'm sure by now you have tried gado-gado but if not definitely try it! Also karedok and ketoprak are different versions of similiar vegetarian dishes. Although they come spicy so ask for less or not spicy when you order! I'm still watching all your videos so I don't know what all you guys have tried yet. Also highly recommend es teler (it's a sort of dessert/drink with mixed fruits and decliousness) Happy eating!

Otak-otak is the fish paste covered with banana leafs then it is grilled. Sate Ayam/chicken sate with peanut sauce. The hot soy sauce is usually for fish grilled.

The grill staffs trying to make fun with you about the chicken satay not the sprawn. They said "satay bambang" means hot satay. 🤣🤣 Btw, Makassar people or most Indonesian will call sprawn and shrimp with "Udang", no differentiation even it small or big one 😊.

Belajar Bahasa Indonesia : Udang = Shrimp / Prawn. Udang Goreng = Fried Shrimp. Ayam Goreng = Fried Chicken. Sate Ayam = Chicken Satay. Selamat Pagi = Good Morning. Selamat Siang = Good Afternoon. Selamat Sore = Good Evening. Selamat Malam = Good Night. Actually "Selamat" mean "Safe", but usually we use "Aman" for "Safe". Because in Indonesia "Selamat" use as greeting too. Selamat Belajar. :-)
