“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
Welcome to the Young Nails family!

One piece of advice I would give is to provide yourself with as much education as possible. A lot of schools only teach the bare minimum, it's up to you to keep educating yourself past school. Young nails is a great education opportunity, they have a lot of great videos on here! Thank you for posting these videos! You guys were and still are my heros because my school left me with hardly any knowledge of nails. Through your videos I have learned so much and I tell everyone to come to your videos when they need help!

I feel like a lot of times if you look at a pro without hearing what they’re saying you learn a lot more by looking at the tiny details that sometimes they don’t talk about or mention but it’s the tiny things that are the most important in nails

The best advice I received when I started 11 years ago was from a 30 year career nail tech veteran. She said “don’t expect perfection every time…you’re not Jesus.” I thought it was funny but also a good point!

I’ve been doing nails for about 8 months, recently graduated nail school & became licensed and I’ve recently been feeling very discouraged because I’m not where I thought I should be. I recently had a client walk away and didn’t seem too enthusiastic about her nails which make me even more discouraged and watching this video made me feel much better! I realized I’m being too harsh on myself, I’ve only been doing nails for 8 months and of course I still have so much more learning to do! This just motivated me to just keep going, thank you young nails for this video!

Heeeelp, I did everything to not get lifting, I did prep, used swipe to dehidrate, used protein bond, and the gel polish still lifted 😩
@donnamarie149

Try 1 coat of protein bond vs two and make sure you’re pushing back the cuticle and getting the invisible sticky cuticle off the nail

@@donnamarie149 thank you!!! I always make sure that my nails are super clean and have no cuticule left, it lifted on the free edge part, I'm kinda losing hope at this point 😔
@loveauxnailwaxstudio

When you finish your nail prep, do not over dehydrate the nail plate with swipe (or any dehydrator) as this can lead to lifting. Use one coat of protein bond on the free edge only prior to gel polish application. Also do not saturate the free edge with protein bond, allow it to dry before applying your base coat. Make sure the client does not use a lot of hair oils, hand lotions/lubricants and hand sanitizers. Sometimes that makes gel polish peel or lift. I hope this helps! 😊

What grit sanding band or hand file are you using to remove the shine? Also, are the nails healthy or more on the thin/weak side?
