You missed one key feature, the strike king has a bearing swivel while the Walmart spinner bait has a Carolina swivel. the bearing swivel spins far better

One important thing you didn't mention Brendan is the quality of swivels they use. It looks like the Walmart one uses a barrel swivel which will fail sooner than the bearing type swivel that the strike King uses. Also bearing swivels dont clog up with algea like barrels do. Actually if you compare prices between the two types of swivels you will quickly see where alot of the price difference comes from. For someone with a budget and casual fishing style though the cheap ones are definitely worth a buck. If you tournament fish and make thousands of casts a day with money on the 'line' you're better off with a quality lure, although the loose hook concerns me on that SK one. i have bought a bunch of the wally specials i just change the swivel and put a small zip tie around the collar band only thing is keep them out of the heat or they will make a melty mess in your box

Hook strength (bending) should be waaay more important than the hook point (you can always sharpen a hook). The Wallys hook is strong. I just change out the skirt and it's great. Although the skirt it comes with will work until it wears out or gets pulled off with a strike.

Great video. I feel like I spend more time shopping for tackle than using it so it's nice to have done idea of what you are getting for your money. Squarebill would be cool and so would jerkbaits. You could add a budget, moderate and high end bait to see where the sweet spot is.

At some Walmart's you mite only find 3 colors but the three Walmart's I've visited in Tennessee had 12 colors and the two in North Carolina had 15 colors. I've tried strike king, Cabala's and Walmart brand spinner bait for some reason the Walmart brand was getting more fish. If you don't like the Skirts Amazon has a kit of 10 of 50 different colors to pick from.

You forgot to mention the quality of the ball bearings used on the blades. Higher end spinnerbaits use really good quality ball bearings while those Walmartp ones use really cheap ones which require speed to even begin to spin

strike king is not very durable and chips paint very easily with mild use and is overall a mistake. Booyah spinnerbait all the way in my opinion.

I think the Wally World bait has the larger blade because the swivel is cheaper. The bigger blade keeps it spinning despite the drag in the cheap swivel. Not knocking it though. I caught my PB on an old BPS Uncle Buck's spinnerbait with a cheap swivel. And that bait was probably 15 years old. The walmart bait will also lose its skirt. Bass won't take nearly as long to "choose" a spinnerbait as we do. A trailer hook can be the great equalizer when it comes to fishing a cheap spinnerbait.

Once it warms up, you should consider doing a comparison of a really expensive frog, a medium price frog, and then a cheap frog and which catches more fish. Such as Lunkerhunt vs Booyah Pad Crasher vs Scum Frog. A lot of people praise and swear by Lunkerhunt, but I have done better with Scum and Booyah. so it'd be cool to see what you think.

For $1 each grab a handful of colors. Mix and match the skirts by taking a few strands of colors off one and adding to another so you get a black body with some yellow in it or red or whatever. I took a black one and added a yellow curly tail grub = a 6 pounder. I took off the skirt all together and put on a KVD frog and got a 2 pounder. At $1 throw it into nasty stuff with no fear of loss.

In our opinion, the Walmart Spinnerbait is better. We've caught 20x as many fish on it as our strike king ones. One of us caught a pb of 7.92 on the Walmart one. It's our latest video.
