Yeah, they need to split Gr1 into several subcategories because trying to balance all of these cars together is impossible. They need to split Gr1 into a Group C category, a VGT category, a Hybrid Lmp1 category, a Non Hybrid Lmp1 category, and then a hypercar category with them adding the other Lmh and Lmdh prototypes. That way, the Bop will be easier to balance out making more cars viable. The need to do with Gr2 as well

honestly if they just choose the right tracks then it could be temporarily fixed. PD isn’t focused on Gr.1 it’s why the class hasn’t been BoP’d since March 30th, 2023. yes. 2023 it’s been a year and a half since they looked at this class. it’s the stepchild

Thnx Tidgney, another great video. Tried your great Jimny setup however PP comes in at 424.56 (with wide body). applying WB took about 0.5 PP away, so much exploring to do here. i posted my setup to show it should be like yours but isn't

Ironically the Bahamas incident was caused by GT7's lack of competent penalty system. Because we're left to police ourselves, Bahamas slows up in the middle of the track to let Metal Ape back in front like a good sport, which causes a massive collision just behind. If we could count on Bahamas getting a suitably large penalty to ensure Metal Ape gets his position back at the penalty line, nobody would ever need to slow manually down to show good sportsmanship.

I disagree. Even if Bahamas had that said penalty, he would serve it at the penalty line. At the time of the incident, he would still slow down to let the victim back on track or at least pass him. My point is, people would still slow down to show good sportsmanship.

@@MrTehNoms It would be cool if it was open to any car but I think this race shows how bad the PP system is so whatever they did it would be one competitive car/build after a couple of hours.

@@GOTMAXPOWER Of course. I would say, though, it's still a win-no change situation: Road cars used in pp races. There's a meta setup so use it if you don't care. I, and the few others like me, can have fun driving "my" car. Perhaps, set W/P restrictions, lateral grip restrictions, etc. The only REAL reason stopping this from being a feasible middle-ground is that PD still haven't implemented proper setup saving/loading in daily races. If they were to set a combo so egregious it's a one-make race, you load the meta setup one time and use it all week.

@@MrTehNoms I definitely agree with that on winning not being everything and just wanting to drive your favourite cars but there are limits, if your car is so far off the pace that you won't see anybody else all race you may as well be in time trial. When I say the PP formula isn't fit for purpose in this Jimny race the cars with the engine swap are the same PP as those without but have 200 bhp extra and are at least 5 seconds a lap faster. I do like your idea of power and weight restrictions, it leaves flexibility to build cars how you want them without as much variation, maybe blocking certain parts too like engine swaps or ultimate upgrades. I would kind of like to see a similar PP limited race but with tuning turned off to see if one car dominated or a few were viable with different strengths and weaknesses.

The biggest probem with race C is not even the penalty system, it's the other drivers tht will always bump into you in every corner. I feel like the amount of dirty drivers increased a lot recently

think everyone was surprised they picked Gr.1, as they thought the world series previewed it for a Gr.3 longer race C. this is actually a good week. however, i wonder if they chose Gr.1 at a hybrid dominant track like this to see the gap between the cars in the class-as the VGTs are next to useless as they were killed. i’d hope the BoP is for all classes except Gr.2 & Gr.B

Ye the BoP is atrocious for Gr.1 but I don't think it'll ever be fixed, the cars are to varied. Would be nice to have 2 cars to choose though out of these, like the 919 and the Toyota for example.

@@tidgney it would all be fixed if they reverted the hybrid systems the way it worked in GTS (at the end of its lifecycle, not the launch). The regeneration is too little and the usage is way too high, it’s like a supercapacitor instead of a battery

@@ruzgarakgul2051i’m from the future they listened to our cries, and responded but only because they added the Genesis X, did they look and say “let’s test some stuff out” pros: the hybrids are like they were in GTS, they last many laps before depletion. much more equal. the gear shifts are faster for h stick/clutch vehicles, feels more like sequential shifting now. the group c’s feel like they have a little more downforce cons: excluding the group c’s, all the cars top speed are an average of 188 (no slipstream.) some have a whole another gear left until their full rev. so basically they bogged down the class again, trying to make things more “equal” at tracks with slow corners and little to no long straights, now that the hybrids are more equal, unless they manually separate the class for race C, it’s gonna guarantee dominance. however , the Porsche isn’t the car to go for automatically anymore

The tuning opens up 6 or 7 more cars than just the meta, so for me I like it , cuz when you’re racing in VR many times the steering wheel blocks some of the vital info.
