Back when i kept my cars for longer than a nano second; my trades were clean enough that I drove them into the used car showroom. A prospective buyer could call me and I would assure them there had been no smoking, no eating no pets and no kids in the car. My trades now are almost new and my dealer expects them to be front line ready. The deal is made over the phone before the dealer sees my car. If I don't meet expectations, I will hear about it. Just traded a 14 month old Acura RDX on a new one. Lease payment went down !.I was lucky that the dealer had exactly what my wife wanted. I have been messing with cars since the early 1960's, and it has always been amazing to me haw filthy some people allow their cars to get. They sit in it. The have no clue how much it costs them at trade in time. Buyers pay the Difference. The higher the trade in and/or the lower the new car price; the smaller the difference.

Now 14 years and 220,000+ miles later I am ready for a new car. The Dodge runs great still, but has a lot of body rust. @michaelh50553 жыл бұрын
I have purchased numerous vehicles over my life and will share my knowledge with you. This works for me every time. 1. Clean your trade in before appraisal. Also have another dealership appraise it even though you have no intentions of buying there. This gives you an excellent idea of what you should expect. 2. Look up inventories online to find what you want. 3. Never ever show excitement towards a vehicle. Inside you know it's perfect and you absolutely want it. But that excitement will be used against you in negotiation. 4. If it's a no haggle dealership, don't waste your time. 5. Secure your financing on your own. You most likely will get a better rate. Do not tell them you have secured financing. 6. Never accept sticker price. I don't care what they say about inventory or chip shortages. 7.: You are going to walk away from the dealership even though you plan to buy that vehicle. For instance, car is 40,000. You give a ridiculous offer you know isn't happening. You say 33,000, they say 39,000. They might say 38,500. You say thank you for your time, but I have two other vehicles to look at and have my loan check in hand. Then you walk away and have lunch down the street. You will be getting a call within the hour. You say 38,000 tax, title, and everything else and I will be there to sign and give you a check. 8. Check all paperwork in the finance office. Don't fall for maintenance programs, gap insurance, etc. Remember, don't be rude. But you are the customer and they need you more than you need them. That salesman is looking for a commission check and the manager is looking to make sales.

Hey I have a question.like the sticker price.I’m still learning car stuff.if the car I want is 22000 on the sticker.is it that price or is there taxes add on? So like it would be 22000 plus 4000 on taxes so it’s 26000? Or sticker price is just that so I can calculate my term and monthly payments.also if sticker price can be lowered
@blackheartsmarine03513 жыл бұрын
MSRP is negotiable and doesn’t include taxes or fees. I ask for the dealer invoice so I can negotiate. Dealers also get a holdback from the manufacturers so don’t let hem tell you they won’t make money if they go too low. Don’t buy based on monthly payment. Don’t let the dealer focus on down payment or monthly payment during negotiations. Keep the focus on the vehicle price and trade amount. Also don’t bring up that you have a trade til after you’ve gotten the best price on the vehicle.

@@blackheartsmarine0351 nice but I feel like they might screw me over if I do that.meaning if I get the price I want.and they get mad.then I tell them I have a trade in.I feel like they will screw me over in a trade in amount to back fire on me…

@@benitouchiha look up the value of your trade. Know what your car is worth. Take it to a few places and get a value even. Look, if the dealer doesn’t like your numbers then walk away. There are a lot of dealers so don’t focus on one. You’ll get what you want so be patient and try many places

Just traded in a 2011 Kia Optima. I knew for a couple months I’d be getting a new car, so I didn’t replace the tires. You would’ve thought I had slicks on there by the time I traded it in😂

Just tell the sales rep the tires are fine, you got a great deal on Nascar tires. In fact it is worth more because of it! There is bound to be a dealer who would believe it!

How does tax credit work? I have a truck that is paid for but am looking to downgrade. Will I only get a tax credit if I trade and buy from the same dealership?
@ChevyDude3 жыл бұрын
If your state gives tax credit. It would have to be on one transaction. You can privately sell (to consumer or dealer) and go buy another vehicle somewhere else and get tax credit.

I saw a video about how the NADA has increased the value on new and used cars. So I looked up my2017 Hyundai Elauntra Extra Value Edition with 32k miles. Just a couple months ago in average condition it was being listed for $9500. Now the NADA book for the same condition says it is worth 17k! What has caused this huge increase?? And would a dealer give me that kind of trade in?

So i am getting ready to trade in my 2017 truck, it has a small 5 inch dent on the bed of the truck. Is it not worth to get it fixed for $150? Wouldnt the dealership say, we gotta ding you $700 to fix the dent?

Maybe you should stop saying you or your dealership don't charge over list for c8 corvettes, because I just got an email saying you will in fact be charging way over list for the Z06 variant. You and the dealership you work are just like the rest. Wouldn't have a problem. If you weren't so fake. Feel free to block me from your channel hope the people you screw enjoy it as much as you do.

Have you heard of an “market adjustment” price due to COVID? I went to trade my car for one I seen online and they were trying to charge me like $5k more than the price listed online because of this so called market adjustment rate.

My car has damage right now because someone hit it while it was sitting in a parking lot and my dad says the trade in value will be higher if we get it fixed before looking for my next car. Is it worth spending money to fix damages? It’s a Buick Encore 2019 only has about 26,000 miles
@ChevyDude3 жыл бұрын
I would first get an estimate on repair cost. then get the car appraised and when the appraisal is done as if what the value would be with the car fixed. Then make your decision. I have traded for many cars with damage and it was better to trade in damaged than to fix.. But, Every case is different. It's why you have to ask the above question.

Is carvana a good resource to use to get dealership to up trade value? I have a carvana offer for over 20k and dealer wanted to give $18,500 for trade in.
@TheRaybay9113 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t see why not. Of course. If you can show a dealer that you can get more money for your car some where else they should work with you with matching that price or higher depending how YOU negotiate. Also try getting a price from vroom they offered $3k more than carvana did for my vehicle.

Question for you Chevy Dude. Two dealerships I’ve contacted are including markups. One is for 5000.00 and another for 10000.00. The salesman for the ten thousand markup said it was due to a lack of new vehicles as a result of COVID. Is this a legit markup or are they trying to pull a fast one? Thanks!
@frankie0723 жыл бұрын
No such thing as a Legit markup but if the buyer is a fool enough to pay markup then as far as im concerned i hope the dealer gets every penny they shouldnt ve getting,I wont pay msrp,well for a very select few cars i would,but other then that at the very least its invoice plus incentives, but a few %behind invoice plus incentives is even better.I understand right now that wont happen,but the simple solution is i wont buy at the moment,New and especially used ,when this bubble bursts alot of people are gonna feel the pain like never before
@islandboy95803 жыл бұрын
Its called an idiot markup. Don’t pay over msrp. If they can get it then they will always apply idiot markup.🤔
