On August 11th I found you on KZbin. That was the last day that I consumed porn. 120 days today! I had been trying and failing for years. I prayed for the tools and strength to quit this terrible 30 year habit. I’m never going back. Life is so much better this way. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so very much. I could not have done it without your help.

Thank you so much doc! The things you say about being afraid to be my real self are very true. I’m 19 years old feeling very lonely all the time never had a girlfriend I have a lot of social anxiety that leads to my addiction to the screen. I always tought I could fill that hole but it never fills it just makes me feel more lonely. I will pray and stay strong and I wish everyone good luck on their journey 🙏🏻.

I think porn is so popular now partly because dating has been ruined by social media, dating apps, and unrealistic standards.
@williamclinard243811 ай бұрын
Pretty decent point but porn has always been popular throughout history it's just now so prevalent and at your finger tips with any phone or computer you have. You have virtually gone from having to go from your house to the liquor store to moveing into the liquor store. It is absolutely pervasive it is everywhere.

Such a profound video. I was 6-7 years old when I got my first taste of physical abuse that would last until I was 18 an able to get away. My head was quite literally backhanded off of a car window because I got sent home for talking at school. Haven’t been the same since, I’m 35 now. It was the most pivotal time in my life where I remember being a happy, joyful, social, innocent, an pure kid to a terrified anxiety ridden child utterly helpless an scared all the time, chasing anything that would make me feel better. There's a time when we need to break away from the crowd. We need to embraced as it comes. I'm 7 months free of self pleasure. I can honestly say, I'm a different person. I can't related to my old self image. I found my purpose in life, before that I used to be on the way of least resistance. Now I'm on control of myself. I'm driving the car. But we got this💪🏼 one fall isn’t so bad when we gone thru a long streak of not doing this every hour or everyday. I was 2 months but 1 20mins of pleasure feels like I lost my whole soul. But I’m understanding different everything our life’s are being distracted by Masturbating Spirits an the only way to cleanse our self is to either pray if you believe in God. Or do some grounding, Go outside barefoot walk on grass, an hug on a tree. Deep breathing. An do excessive work outs so you release all this hurt an madness for a renew productivity. We Got this 💪🏼🔥 no giving up this year virtual Women won’t turn us on, this world is very wicked an every time we watch porn or masturbate we are doing this perverse things with Satan an we can’t let him be the source of our pleasure NOOOO NEVER!! SR is a tougher journey for those who can resist

What a wonderful video Dr. Leigh, another in the many I have watched of yours on this painful matter for me morally, spiritually. At the age of 12 I discovered the works of the Marquis de Sade in my mother´s library, plus some very very hard porn (including zoophilia) magazines my father brought home after a symposium he attended in Scandinavia and had hidden away. Family dysfunction was a given, a terrible ordeal. I am about to turn 66, and I have been addicted ever since, obviously looking for the love I never felt worthy of. I lost my family life, the best wife and best mother to my children imaginable due to my compulsions and addictions, even though we continue a very civil and loving relationship. It is truly incredible how your videos, your professional stance and lucid, straightforward presentations have helped me to fully commit at last and begin my journey back to my best self. I had begun the practice of meditation over a year ago, and find that it has been very helpful in this purpose of getting back my life on one track, the right one. 8 days without pornography Dr. Leigh, and I feel everything will be alright.

@DrTrishLeigh2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you have to teach your brain to deal with stressors in a healthy way. And find dopamine in the world preventively to offset stress before it overcomes you. For example make a study schedule that includes one and a half hours of studying and then 30 minute breaks to exercise, hang out with people, play music, go for a walk in nature, do one of your hobbies. Create balance so you don’t need to offset the stress.

I was born with half a flame with trama at birth. Then a second defined trama point at 13 has diminished my flame. I’m 42 now and have been a hypersexual sexaddict and manic porn addict (pleasure seeker) since 14. I have everything in the world to be happy and joyful about yet I feel completely hollow on the inside without a flame. But I Haven’t watched porn in a couple weeks now. Fighting the urge to look at it by watching this video and writing this comment. Thank You for your video.

The beautiful thing is that you can ignite your own flame on a daily basis. Neurofeedback can enhance your Brain performance due to trauma. That is why I use it to help people. You can learn more about it on my website.

I'm going through major withdrawals now. The dopamine deluge of pmo has now become a dopamine deficit of abstention. I'm going through big time anxiety and depression...low self-esteem, guilt and feeling the world hates me...called projection. Who else is feeling this similar pain?
