May our Heavenly Father bless the body mind and soul of Jimmy Carter and the soul of his wife Rosalyn carter, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray, AMEN I'm grateful I was able to listen to him teach sunday school at the church he attended. He had interesting interpretations that included geopolitical metaphors, if I recall. That was in 2009-ish, not long after I gave my life to God and became a Christian. Was a serendipitous meeting as I was on a cross country hitchhiking and train hopping journey and stopped at some communes on the way and one of them was koinonia, a Christian community in Georgia near to where Jimmy Carter attended church and taught sunday school. I was surprised to be searched by secret service agents in a church building. had to apologize to them as i had allergies at the time so pockets full of used tissues. 😮😅 He was president before my time but from what I understand about his presidency he's probably the living president I would most want to meet, so glad to have been able to shake this man's hand. He was someone who preached peace and compassion and gave his time and energy to actualize this. Now only God can judge a man but Jimmy Carter seems to me be a man who tried to do God's will and inspires others to do God's will. Blessed is he who consider the poor. The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, and he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.

Leave the man be. This is so contray to what hospice care is supposed to be. The hospice director giving an interview discussing Carter's status is shameful. People can remain on hospice for quite some time. It's unusual, but it happens. Certainly, it's not a reason to have a countdown, "day 365." Hospice is a service that is supposed to provide a peaceful death and a dignified one. There is nothing dignified about this. Say a prayer for the man. Remember him, quietly. When the time comes, let the tributes be made public. For now, let his final days be without public intrusion, let them be peaceful, and most important, let them be dignified.
