I'm on the M5 bandwagon. Instead of stripping a car out and making it as uncomfortable as possible to get the most speed, leave all the comfort items and turn up boost. Why not be comfy and go fast?

@@MrSeanman30 agree 100%. Been there done that with stripped out versions. After 10-15 mins, you want out of them. I really like my ‘23 992 Turbo S. Had a GT3 RS. Kept it 2-3 months and kicked it down the road. Really liked my 991.2 Turbo S.

The Turbo models are their powerful Grand Touring models, the lightweight package is stupid for the Turbo S. 66lbs in glass and sound deadening is not going to do very much for performance (that's less than 2% of the car's weight), but losing sound deadening is certainly going to make the car noticeably less comfortable as a cruiser, especially if you take it on trips. The car already handles well enough and is very quick for the GT that it is, if you want lighter and faster then you buy a GT3, GT3RS, or GT2RS.

Definitely not worth spending that much to remove 70 lbs. just take the passenger seat out for free and that probably removes about 50 lbs.

@@G82Watts we “tune” the EVs just like ICE people do. You have to optimize the battery temperature. That is just the same as playing with timing or adjusting boost. You just like to say EVs are bad without ever really trying them. You don’t know what you are missing until you actually try it. Most fun I have ever had with a car.

Not "manufacturers" Porsche, specifically.....the cars come with so little as standard it's actually insane, and the options are stupendously priced. Stupendous still being an understatement. If most manufacturers did what these guys did, Lord knows what the industry would become. Start picking basic options and you easily go well over 260k. Go into more extensive options and it's well over 300k, just to get something that's still less luxurious and technologically advanced than most in the segment.

You option your cars similar to my philosophy, I never get the 5k stereo, I usually am stuck buying sunroofs I never use, I never opt for super low profile tires because in the northeast you end up hit potholes which cost big money for new wheels and tires. I am older I opt for the comfort seats.

Love to see that you finally joined the Porsche family 🤙! Not only will you notice that Porsche generally is conservative with their weights, the same should be true with the actual power rating for the car, which I’m sure you’re going to verify at some point. An additional benefit of the lightweight package, is reduced sound insulation, which results in a really cool sound on the inside of the vehicle as you get higher up in the rev range FYI ☝️!

The lightweight package is good deal for those who track their 911 Turbos regularly (I know such guy - he prefers the Turbo S over GT 911s and has already second 992 turbo S and in first year has driven 20k kms with the last one, including 2k kms on race tracks) as that is the only way how to get the bucket seats from factory. If you want to put them in later, at the dealer they will cost you 20k+ EUR here in Europe. Otherwise the lightweight package would not make big sense on turbo S.

I have a 997 GT3 Cup car but have a 2022 Turbo S Lightweight that I custom ordered and waited a year for . Have now had it 2 years and have tracked it 6 times which is Big Fun ...really easy to drive fast I have been hauling race cars to tracks for decades but sometimes I get lazy and just put my track wheels with already mounted track tires on one of the 3 street/track other cars I own and just drive to the track Easy Peezy as opposed the loading the trailer /tieing car down /etc The extra $10K Lightweight kit was good for me because : I wanted carbon fiber bucket seats (which are expensive) NOTE::CF seats on my McLaren 600 LT are $19,000 from the factory and I hate them I also wanted : 1. sport exhaust ( although it is not too sporty so I had a custom lightweight exhaust system with cats fabbed for the car)) 2.SPORT PASM front suspension enhancement for slightly better front suspension feel while on the track', 3. the rear seat delete to facilitate placing more stuff in that area, 4.. the lightweight quieter glass to make up for the lack of insulation 5.it came with lightest OEM wheels that I use just with my track tires ( have aftermarket street wheels) But from an ego standpoint having a truly unique LIGHTWEIGHT model P car at Cars and Coffee creates buzz (as I have OEM like LIGHTWEIGHT badging ) So yes I am COOL with my Lightweight The car may not actually be much lighter or faster than a stocker but being cool at C and C Saturday mornings is fun for an old white-haired ex racecar driver

I would do r101 lw HRE wheels ( so light) and Kline inconel race exhaust. I always go for buckets but it’s personal preference, can not wait to see times on this car

The real test will come when you race your car against another Turbo S that's stripped from the factory and another Turbo S that has all of the options. I truly don't believe you're going to see that big of a difference.

Getting a pair of the carbon RS seats, carbon roof, a lower 30mm suspension and thinner lightweight glass for 10k is a bargain.... Try to replicate it or take 70lbs off the car tastefully for 10k. Its a bargain for the lightweight package

@@DragTimes I just received allocation and ordered the 2025 GTS. Right now the GTS t-hybrid beats the Turbo S but Porsche has not yet released the 2025 911 Turbo S t-hybrid, which will be a screamer. Your car is beautiful. I love Carmine Red, which I had on my last Porsche. This time I ordered the same interior as you, with Ice Gray Metallic paint.

I don't think the lightweighting package is worth it. According to car and driver, it does the 1/4 mile in under 10 seconds with it, but i bet if you put that 10 grand into a ecu tune you get can go below 10s easily.

Your car is very fast: 2024 Turbo S: 0-60 in 2.7 sec. Top speed 205 mph. Beats 2025 911 GTS 0-60 in 3.0 and top speed 194 mph.
