Holosun has really stepped up their game. I was lucky enough to snag a few of the 508T V2’s when they were still available. They replaced 3 out of the 5 RMR’s I own. I don’t really care about the multiple reticles, but the side loading battery, glass clarity and titanium housing are a huge win.

I started with the Trijicon RM06, but later switched to the Holosun 507C, big difference due to the larger window. I just changed to the Holosun 507C x2 ACSS with the 250 moa ring it is a game changer. The 250 moa Halo shows you exactly where you are off if the Chevron is not centered. With ammo and practise/training harder to come by, it really helps get you on target fast. And for somebody learning red dots it would make a huge difference.

Great assessment of pistol optics. I had 2 RMRs shoot craps with emitter lens flying off. Likely an aberration, and was repaired by Trijicon. Those two RMRs are now on carbines. All my pistol optics are presently Holosun.

Great video (as always), thanks for the insights/sharing your wealth of knowledge/experience. My primary carry is a G19 running a 507C up top. It really came down to the ability to swap batteries on the fly when I was down to picking between the Holosun and the RMR, and I can't say that I have any regrets. This has led to me picking up a 509T and getting ready to send a slide to Jagerwerks for millwork so I can just mount the optic directly to the slide without the need for mounting plates. Probably overkill for a carry optic, but I just like the closed emitter and the build quality on the 509T.

Nice overview. So many optics, so little time to review all of them, so I can understand leaving out Vortex and Swampfox. The Swampfox Sentinel (American Veteran owned, but manufactured in China 😢), is on my daily carry Staccato C. If I were still working the street, I wouldn't hesitate to use a Swampfox Liberty or Justice (with Ironside shield) on my duty gun.
@ElevatedPerformanceConcepts3 жыл бұрын
Aaron Cowan just did a review of the swampfox liberty (the bigger one) and it didn’t pass his test. His test proved it is not a duty rated optic.
@RidersRange3 жыл бұрын
@@ElevatedPerformanceConcepts I watched Aaron's review on the Justice. Swampfox has the Ironside shroud available for both the Liberty and the Justice now, so a repeat of the test using the Ironside would be interesting. It's easy for me to say, now that I'm retired, but I wouldn't hesitate to carry a duty gun with either the Liberty or the Justice - with Ironside.

I love the durability of the rmr, but the battery replacement (for the reasons you stated) would annoy me. Further, the price point means I can buy other components (like over priced primers). My dollars need to work for me. I was willing to go with an rmr, but settled on the Holosun 508t. I have several hundred rounds through my G35 with it onboard and have 0 issues. Also, a few friends said they had run in to some issues with Trijicon recently. I try to buy American products, but those companies need to keep up with the positive changes others are putting out to keep my business. Before I purchased the 508t I called Holosun to ask a few questions. One was if they were going to shift manufacturing to the U.S. they indicated that they were seriously looking at that. I don’t know if that was smoke or reality. I hope they do. Their products that I have used have this far worked well. In fact, I will be buying another 508T very soon. Another concern I had with the Holosun was durability. Sage Dynamics put that to rest with his torture test.

New subscriber here. I'm new to the pistol dot game, currently looking for my 2nd pistol dot. Very impressed with Holosun overall. Can you speak to choosing a pistol dot for a shooter who has astigmatism? Whatever I choose, I'll probably buy a green dot - they seem to "bloom" less than red. With my current Sig Sauer red dot, I get "starfish" shape, and the other day I saw three dots next to each other with the real dot slightly dimmer than the others. Very confusing.

I'll never buy another holosun. They fkd me once it won't happen again. I'll run irons on ANYTHING before I give them another cent. So I pony up the cash for the rmr2 on my handguns.
