7:27 Lightning - LS-218 215 miles per hour for $38,888 sounds like the best deal and look for it IMHO. With a moderate weight and average range of 120 miles. 200 HP!!! Already won races against petrol bikes to prove itself! Some of the other bikes look like a fire place guard or fridge box. This looks nice.
@THEREALZENFORCE3 жыл бұрын
Lightning - LS-218 won a pike peak run no actual race with laps 38000 dollars for 200HP and only 120 miles range is superbad. 18000 dollars ZH2 200HP with 180 miles and refueled in 1 minute 19000 dollars GSXR-1000R 200HP with 130 miles and refueled in 1 minute 30000 dollars Honda Fireblade SP 217HP 25000 dollars Aprilia RSV4 217HP The Lightning needs 40 hours on regular charging for a bad 120miles max city use, when you do not push the bike hard on the throttle, probably half that range on the highway, Autobahn. The Zero SR/F makes 100 miles in real world every day use e-motorcycles need 3 times the real world range, also way cheaper and need to be fully charged in less than 10 minutes or else no real biker will daily use them.

Motorcycle engine designers have done way more to make gas powered engines super efficient than anyone. Even my 1972 Kawasaki 500 CC had two horse power per cubic inch of engine displacement and weighted less than 400 pounds. The '73 903 CC 4-Stroke Kawasaki amazed the world and was gorgeous ! Electric Motorcycles have a long way to go.

What would be considered standard maintenance for an electric bike , besides charging the batteries.
@EddyKorgo2 жыл бұрын
paint polish, chain/bearings lubrication (dont! lubricate motor). if battery goes out, you have a nice bonfire. If controller goes out, yo better getting new one. same goes for motor. But the probability is very low. Only water/snow/rust, thunder can break the bike. Even breaks dont wear off that fast as on a petrol bike as e bike uses the motor to break.

The majority of these bikes are unaffordable for the average person and are way to heavy, lighter weight means more range they all go fast enough to lose your licence on. In my opinion they are to futuristic, make what people want to buy and at a price they are capable of paying and then start to move the design ideas into the mainstream. But what do I know, I just ride bikes because I enjoy them.

Repeat after me "A motor gets its power from an outside source." " An engine creates its power internally" the terms shouldn't be interchangeable. Disirregardless, there were some pretty interesting bikes,(with motors''....Just realized that the word motorcycle is now correct. An "Enginecycle" for the gasoline versions.
@arjai90923 жыл бұрын
not entirely correct. An internal combustion engine doesn't "create power internally", it converts (through combustion) the energy (power) stored in fossil fuel into kinetic energy (motion). An electric motor converts the energy stored in the battery (through electro-magnetism) into kinetic energy (motion). So they are both doing the same thing, but with different fuel types. A medieval catapult was called an engine so the word is not exclusive the internal combustion and motor is just a more modern word for engine really.

Livewire: $29,799; Ego: $35,000; Brutus $32,490 and too ugly to look at; Sora $82,000; J1 no price but also too ugly to look at; Zero SR $18-ish the only actual motorcycle on the list; Kake Kalk $14,000 an excellent e-bicycle but for $14K?; Lightening LS $38,800 all the great performance of bikes costing $15K less; Tarform no price and not quite as ugly as the other two ugly bikes; Arc Vector $117,000. After the price, does any other spec matter? I am not against e-bikes. There is no better way to turn wheels than with electric motors. Full power from 1 RPM is amazing. Maybe the next generation of batteries will make e-bikes practical. As for me, I have a Yamaha MT-10 with 135 HP at the rear wheel, fantastic handling, 180 mile range, but with 2 min "recharge." all for $13,000. e-bikes, except maybe for the Zero, are not ready for prime time. They won't be "dominating the industry" for many years.

The Cake bike is the number 4 choice on this video and takes 2.5 hours to charge for a top range of 83 miles at a top speed of 56 mph. It's the only electric cycle to post the amount of time to charge. A conventional, gas motorcycle takes 5 minutes to refuel, achieving greater speeds and distance. Get back to me when refueling times are similar to conventional motorcycles'. I know how long it takes to get my cell phone to full charge. This just doesn't seem practical. The charging times are rarely discussed when discussing electric vehicles.
