The fact is that Aaron Rodgers is one of the best QB's in today's game and will be one of the best of all-time. Why? Because his skill-level and much of his stats support that notion. Granted, we are judging a player who has not even finished his career yet, and often people try to compare them to players who are long retired when it's not a valid comparison. Overall, once Rodgers retires he will be one of the best ever- and that won't be debatable despite which team anybody supports. Rodgers is able to put up great numbers with a coaching staff that should have been fired 2 years ago, and a defense that contributes almost nothing to every damn game. The Packers have little-to-no run game every season. What do they have? Aaron Rodgers and generally a couple mediocre- or better- WR's who can get the job done as they simply have to try and outscore their opponents knowing their defense won't stop anybody and Green Bay's coaching staff is one of the most predictable, least creative out there. Generally, everybody who plays the Packers knows their game plan- Rodgers will throw the ball, and typically to this guy or that guy- yet knowing and stopping them are two different things. That, in my opinion, is what makes Rodgers one of the best. And, he can throw a ball like no other. Sadly, the Packers organization has been simply wasting some of Rodger's best years- the years where Green Bay should be making multiple SB appearances. As a lifelong Packers fan (grew up in Wisconsin), I was happy as shit when Favre finally left so Rodgers could take over. I got tired of that bullshit "gun-slinger" style of play that was praised so much when we had a QB capable of placing the ball anywhere he wanted. When it comes to the Eli Manning comments you're pretty spot on though. In my opinion, Manning is not as good as some like to believe- to put it mildly, especially since it was the NYG defense who helped secure those victories. He just had to show up and NOT fuck up too much in order to get the wins.
