Hi guys!
Wow, it’s been 2 years since I last did one of these kind of videos. I know training and motivation can be hard to come by these days so I thought I’d do a tricks video aimed towards beginner/intermediate level with elegant shapes without having to invert. I’m not totally sure of the names for these moves but here’s a rough idea:
1. Swan seat to stag variation
2. Figurehead variation
3. Figurehead to Umbrella and variations
4. Shi shi spin to Broken wing variation
5. Vortex
6. Double cross knee release to Crescent moon variation
7. Stargazer to Rainbow and variation
8. Single embrace and variation
9. Karate kid and variations
10. Twisted Cupid to Compass variation
Feel free to ask any questions below and if you try any of these moves I would love to see them!
Studio: Flyaway Aerial Studio
Instagram: / tanyaxcheung @tanyaxcheung
Outfit: Bandurska Design
Patreon: / tanyaxcheung
Please be careful when attempting any new move, use a crash mat and spotter if possible.

Can I just say how much I love these shapes. I've been so focused on hard tricks lately, that I've forgot how simple moves can be beautiful as well. Just lovely

Every time I come back to this video I think "now is the time to try these moves!" And then I see that single-arm Embrace and I'm like... "maybe later!"

Haha you can do it! My top tip is to stay engaged and remove the elbow slowly, do NOT kick the legs back! Think about the points of contact and if it doesn’t feel secure then keep both elbows on, it’ll still look great ☺️

... These are not easy, not beginner imo. been poling multiple times a week for a year. I think this requires an incredible amount of strength and flexibility.

Yeees! Even the moves that seem so simple are very hard for a beginner. It's only been 2 months since I'm going and most of the moves she shows here would be hard for me

I always spin to fast, should I be slowing my whole body from the start of my walk? I seem to speed up mid trick.
@tanyacheung
@tanyacheung 3 жыл бұрын
This is common for most people when they first try spin pole. My advice is to try to keep yourself close to the pole when doing the walk, usually the inside arm is too low which being your body further away from the pole causing the pole to speed up. Hope this helps!
@LeChatNoir1300
@LeChatNoir1300 2 жыл бұрын
I have the same problem! What helps me is to not get any momentum from the walk. So I start from the side of the pole and I turn to face the pole spinning as slowly as I can on my inside leg, and this half turn gives me enough spin.

I have been able to successfully teach beginners these tricks. These tricks are aimed towards beginner/intermediate level and as shown there are variations of the tricks. To make a trick easier for example, then try to keep both hands on or maybe some may prefer to do it without the pole spinning.
