Yeah the 1UZ is the best engine for speed and reliability while also letting you see everything under the hood. My GS400 has the highest output of that engine with 300hp and 310ft lb torque. Smooth too

My dream V8 is the 1,006 cubic inch v8 with a two 4 hybird screw superchargers and 4 2,800hp to 2,500hp turbochargers in compound set up. That means that is 21,200hp in turbos alone.

you really made a V8 list without the M113/M155 that has a history of great power and has been in some outstanding Mercedes AMG cars. From the naturally aspirated W210 E55 to the mighty supercharged Mercedes SLR McLaren. This engine is both reliable and powerful and definitely a much better choice than the 6.2 M156.

Mercedes didn't race with that engine and it's supercharged. The M156/159 is the first engine AMG made from scratch. Lighter weight, normally aspirated torque monster. The engine you're talking about is a great engine. But the supercharged LS's in the ZR1's and supercharged Coyote in the GT500 Mustang are better.

@@albanemini1274 that's correct. The NA doesn't hold a candle to the M156/M159 and the supercharged is outgunned by the GM and Ford supercharged engines. I'm not arguing the reliability of those engines and the supercharged can make great power. Just not the astronomical power they're getting out of the supercharged GM and Ford ones.

The M113 in the w210 e55 had 350bhp and in the slk black series 400, then it got a supercharger and made 480 in the w211 e55 and pushed it's way to 650 in the SLR. Those are more than acceptable numbers, the engine offers plenty of power and especially torque. Also it was put in some of the most legendary Mercedes cars that were made just as reliable as the engine itself. It's not just about power, you don't need 1000 bhp in a car that you either daily or just have fun with it on the weekends.

Ls is by far my favorite no crazy chains and guides not ridiculously wide aka the hemi small simple powerful as hell and sounds beautiful and can't forget the simplicity and budget friendliness my silverado with an ls based engine has 230k flawless trouble free miles burns no oil when the truck rots in half that engine is getting put into something badass

You skipped over the Gen 2 Hemi, they can make 7,000 HP in top fuel, more than any other engine ever made. They also ran over 200 MPH in NASCAR back in 1970.

My dad's old 2012 F-150 had the 5.0 Coyote. That thing was one pissed off engine. Very fast. I'd say one engine to put here is the old Ford 460 Big Block (7.5). Those engines did not have much HP, but you could pull a continent out of place with one of those. Probably one of the only V8 engines to be a decent substitute for a Diesel engine.
