I have started sparring recently and have an honest question about fear. I have no fear about being hit or hurt, but the fear of being knocked out is very much present. Any tips on getting over this mental hurdle?

Feining being tired or hurt to get them to come in over aggressively and counter with a hard combo. In my few sparring sessions so far this worked pretty well.

@@tonytouch7823 Obviously don't feint being completely done. But fighters can pick up on body language and using it against them is a good way to counter. Get rocked with a decent shot and act like you are backing up because of it, as if it hurt you enough to go on your heels. Your opponent 9 times outta ten is gonns come with over anxious heat trying to finish the job, that's when they get sloppy.

And if they throw a lazy jab you can slip it and counter cross to the head. It’s very hard for the opponent to block or dodge
@freddyboy8251
@freddyboy8251 2 жыл бұрын
so the next trick should be always throwing the right hand first then because opponent expects the jab :)
@kaidavidsonnyika8313
@kaidavidsonnyika8313 2 жыл бұрын
@@freddyboy8251 no don’t do that. To throw the cross effectively you have to be in range because it has a lot less distance than the jab. Instead you will end up leaning in to land that punch and will be likely to be hit with an uppercut or hook counter. There is a reason the jab is the most common first punch of a fight, it is very effective. Hope this helps! 👍

yeah, i love that slap the hand away punch-em in the face move. works well in a street fight too. even better id say. no gloves. also love the other moves. i believe the better mover wins the fight. who has their feet in the right spot. power comes with the feet being in the right spot. look at Roy Jones Jr. iv seen ur fights as well. plenty of lateral movement. glad to see u made a channel for people to learn from. got Mad respect for how u fought. i respect all fighter. nothing like getting hit in the face or hitting someone in the face. spot yes. game no. great channel.

Hi Tony, I was advised to check out your vids. Really nice stuff you put out there. One little thing- well is it in a fight?- after the break you did what is perfectly what a break is supposed to result in, get out of the clinch/entanglement and carry on. It is the stop command that makes coming forward at once again to be against the rules that the referee should observe. It is innthe making of the vid no doubt since this is standard procedure, however not all of us know that. Thanks a bunch for sharing your skills and experience André
