Don't forget that Deathgrip has a green counterpart called Life Force. Same exact card, except it counters Black spells. No one ever expects these two to hit the field.

8:41 Dense Foliage - I just realized that it doesn’t prevent abilities from targeting. You can still use Timberwatch Elf. You can still use equipment. You can still use Maze of Ith. 🤔

I run dense foliage in my all permanents vaevictis asmodi deck, I can target everything still and it does a ton of work stopping opponents. You don’t realize how much stuff targets in magic until you have this card out

What's nice about deconstruct (like all cards with generic pips that give mana back) with cost reducers it becomes a little ritual.

9:08 The other thing to keep in mind with Destructive Flow is that you are playing Green. It's really not hard to run a 3 color deck with all basics if Green is one of them. I used to run this in a Jund reanimator deck (Adun Oakenshield) and I used all the Landcycle creatures to mana fix and provide reanimation targets.

I want to reiterate that Debt of loyalty only takes control of a creature if it would regenerate the creature. I've had multiple people not know that.

Debt of loyalty.. wipe the board yourself, but regen the opponents commander 😂😂 no death, no command zone, you control it now

Shout out for Devouring Strossus! I remember opening up Invasion and finding this monstrosity. I thought it was one helluva black beat down flier. The card I thought would work with it was Infernal Genesis, but back then seemed a little too much for standard . I thought about putting him in a Slimefoot and Squee commander deck. Where we keep sacrificing Slime & Squee to Devouring Strossuses' begin of upkeep ability. Yes I'm old. Long time subscriber Demo. Love it.

I absolutely love that Deftblade Elite was errataed to be a human. He's great in if you don't have Odric Master Tactician, or even better if you have both.

You said for debt of loyalty around 5:30 ''it will come into play under your control'' which is not true. You will just control it, it will not enter for etb triggers etc

I love deathgrip in my Witch King of Angmar deck! Swarm is one of my biggest counters since it’s a voltron, so countering those pesky green spells helps a bunch. And if I don’t need it I can discard it with my commander’s ability!

Death Match would go insane in an Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder deck, so long as you can keep Endrek alive.

Provoke has always been my favorite as well. It’s almost targeted removal to force value creatures to block

Destructive Flow mentioned, baby! I have four copies sitting in various Gruul/Jund decks and it's ALWAYS impactful.

Deconstruct is only good in storm decks. In every other deck it's just a free artifact destruction card. If you are doing sorcery speed removal, just play Broken Bond. It's essentially destroy artifact or enchantment for 1 mana that ends up ramping you as well.

So I found Deconstruct in a bulk pile and have been a fan ever since. It's only artifact removal, but you get the mana back and you can chain into other spells.

Deftblade Elite is great in Breena. You can make it big, force a block, or attack an opponent to draw a card with Breena and remove it from combat.

well that 6 mana demon, when you have to sac as well. just add 1 mana and play Sheoldred whispering one, so you will get reanimation on your turn instead losing a creature.

Another card if you haven't covered it yet is Wave of Vitriol I have Death Match in my Thrull deck, it's quite wonderful. +2 Tevesh to make 2 thrulls, kill two things Give Deftblade Elite Banding and have it go with something that you want to get blocked but is too fragile to actually fight Meanwhile I play no fewer than 18 basics in a five color deck. You need to have that security for if a Blood Moon or Back to Basics drops. Plus they are rampable and grabable with Path to Exile

For Deconstruct, it should be noted that it sorta works to cast cards with stricter mana requirements and/or multiple cards. Say you and an opponent played Sol Ring on Turn 1. Turn two, you can play circle of Dreams Druid and a Llanowar Elves.

Dense Foliage would be good tech for an equipment deck with green since you’re not targeting your creatures with spells, but with abilities. It can be rough if your creatures keep getting removed, and this can make it much harder to do so.

If they casting Farewell your boys are still getting exiled if you sac em most likely as it exiles all graveyards too

i thought the same but it can also get detrimental, it's the typical card that will either get you killed as soon as possible or will get removed before you can even put it into use. I have a massacre girl deck and it already scares people a lot just by existing, as it should

I do not think that Destructive Flow is good against people playing many nonbasics. Unless you play it really early or it sticks around a while, most players (except you) will probably have multiple nonbasics out. That means players with more of them can choose which ones to sacrifice and they will probably have a few they can spare. Players with a lot of basics on the other hand will have to sacrifice the few valuable utility and mana fixing lands they have.

how very odd Death or Glory seems to be unsearchable and possibly invisible on Moxfield, Scryfall didnt go directly to the card either instead opting for a page of similarly names cards, it was there but still very odd.

the reason is you are including or in the title search terms as a function rather than as a string. What is happening when you search death or glory is a list of cards that have death in their name, or glory in their name. if a card has or in its name you need to search the exact name in quotes, "death or glory".

I was really high on Debt of loyalty at first, but over 2 years of playtesting, it has only disappointed me. It's a dead card 90% of the time. Casting it successfully is so hard.

Super agree. I got it because I didn't know it had oracle text and it looks a lot better than it is. You pretty much never get to use it in the way you want, which is a shame because that wasn't a cheap card.
