Nice thing about Brittle Effigy is that it can be searched up with Trinket Mage or (now) Urza’s Saga.

I like to use break through the line with my braid of fire in my goblin deck. Throw in some fire-breathing and a dragonrage and you pretty much win.

from a couple of other famous youtubers particularly mitch from commander quarters he and a few other recomend that the ultimate transmute card is Dimir House Guard that card is a win win either way transmuted or cast 1. you can tutor most to all of the 4cmc cards most particularly wrath of god effects in that cmc 2. and this is the very very very important part....its a free sac outlet so if you have a aristocrats deck you can just sac creatures left and right for death triggers on stuff and graveyard shenanigan's, and with the regenerate part you can use it as a blocker like Serene Master since it will barely ever die if you have a creature token creator like Tendershoot Dryad for example. oh did i mention it can sac itself so you can protect it from exile removal.

Braid of fire does a ton of work in a Kenrith deck, and half of my win cons rely on enchantments so I never mind of someone uses their removal on my braid of fire

I used Brainspoil a lot in my Horobi deck to get Cauldron of Souls which works really well with the commander. Bow of Nylea is amazing in both versions of Sisay to get things back in the library, and also I like giving Crypt Rats deathtouch because it's fun.

Braid of fire works very well with Kumano, master Yamabushi and Breathstealer's Crypt works wonders with Taigam, sidisi's hand! (he skips draw steps and likes do discard cards anyway). You can use in a Nebuchadnezzar deck as well, because everyone will be revealing cards with the Crypt. Like it a lot the suggestions! thanks!

Braids of Fire goes in my Gruul Intentions deck, which focuses on massive mana ramp and effects that keep my pool from emptying or transforms the mana into colorless instead of letting my pool empty. Also, good call on Bring to Light, that's a great little card

12:34 Bring to Light should be an auto Include in a Codie, Vociferous Codex Deck. His ability gives WUBRG which maximizes the converge, and then you cast 2 spells for 4 mana with a potential value of 9.

important factor for transmute: You can reuse them in the graveyard. One can play Transmute in Kess tutor a card and later "flaschback" the spell. I play The 4 drop guard in Savra edh because it is a free sacrifice outlet and it returns from the graveyard if I use mass reanimation.

bow of nylea is something i auto included in fynn. turning any mana dork/utility creature into a viable attacker with fynn is good, and getting such a versatile ability on top is great.

Bring to Light is a seriously good card even in a three-color deck, wild that it's not more commonly used than it is

You can create mana outside of your commanders identity as well so its actually very viable. It could also get you a pact of negation to just sit there ready at any time.

Braids of fire is a great card in my Purphoros, Bronceblooded Deck. Dumping out dragons during my upkeep with it's mana leaves enough mana to work around the sacrifice clause during my turn, wheel my empty hand away etc.

I definitely agree that transmute is a strong keyword. I think if they were to bring it back they should make the card powerful enough so people don't always use it as a tutor. Maybe madness and transmute on a card?

Braid of Fire is in my Akroma Angel of Fury deck, works absolutely great as free Mana to pump Akroma.

Dimir house guard is a power house in my reanimation deck, I can sac stuff to it, reanimate it back because it's a creature and I play a lot of 4 cmc stuff. Works great

Transmute also has the advantage of not being easily countered, since it is an ability in the card, and it never becomes a spell

Braid of Fire seems particularly good with Leyline Tyrant and Horizon Stone. Leyline Tyrant is just awesome in general but Horizon Stone and Braid of Fire could work great in a red artifact deck. They often have activated ability costs (like paying for Basalt Monolith's untap) and holding colourless mana over phases is not a bad thing. Chromatic Orrery can also turns that mana into any colour.

Grozoth, the 9 mana transmute card can be really good in the right deck, I personally play it in my Kaza Dragonstorm to search for Dragonstorm, a good way to play around counterspells.

Netherborn phalanx is actually excellent. 6 mana in mono-black gets you many useful things, and the ETB of this creature is relevant anyway

Bring to Light is insane, Niv-to-Light is a super oppressive deck in Pioneer. It can tutor for double faced cards like Valki/Tibalt or for answers like you said

You could put in a leyline tyrant with braid of fire and keep that mana leyline tyrant is also a mana sink when it dies, or a horizon stone and you'd keep it but it would turn colorless

You seem to like stuffy doll. Whenever the Rs roll back around for this series might want to mention Repercussion. It makes all creatures stuffy doll...targeting their owner. Unique as far as I know, At least on that scale. Many years ago I made a deck whose theme was to get repercussion and damage doublers out. Once did lethal to a guy for the sin of possessing a single creature with a tremor.

I find it really sad that old cards with an ETB or activated effect, also have evasion. Now, with MH2 specifically, we have so many ETB cards on a vanilla body. Awesome card selection in this video.

I absolutely love how Break Through the Line lets Bone Dancer in for free GY theft...get a nice little tutor for 2 cards, and thats a pretty gross 5 mana combo (6 mana to activate Break Through the Line). woooooow....This might need to be a Thantis addition for me =)

you forgot to mention how modal face cards work with bring to light. You can technically tutor lets say a loki, but you can cast the tibalt side because of how the card is worded.

I wanted to find Braid of Fire for two decks, but couldn't because of its price and availability. One deck was an Akroma Angel of Wrath, to use for her firebreath ability and the other a Gisela deck, to use on a pyrochemia or something similar to clear the board and damage players.

Transmute was broken so them not reprinting it is probably on purpose. Have a muddle the mixture in my deck and, just tutors for gilded drake usually but sometimes it counters a spell lol
