A lot of us in Northern Europe (and I'd guess parts of North America) cannot afford to only wear the lightweight albeit wool-rich coats and a lot of our styling is dictated by first and foremost protecting oneself from the sub-zero temperatures, snow and wind. So I am not counting on the puffer coat to exit the chat anytime soon and certainly not the heavier scarves and absolutely no Mary-Janes in winter, even with the thickest woollen socks.

those one you should wear with a little padded underwest.

At the end of the day - LOOKING WARM comfortable and safe are the absolute best garments to wear for winter- but these are some nice suggestions if the weather allows! Thank you for sharing with us all.

Don’t agree about moto jackets or shearling moto jackets. They have a time and place and shearling is warm in colder climates.

This is interesting and I enjoyed this video . I own alot of a bags from the brands . I have a real Hermes and a ‘fake’ hermes kelly. The Kelly I took with me to hermes once and the sell’s representative thought it was real so did the customer near me . I let them know it was not from the hermes brand lol. The customer wanted to know where I bought it *suluxy* so she could get one like it lol. Honestly I was not embarrassed about it but was amused that everyone thought it was real . :)

Buy the best fabric & construction your budget affords. What is import is how does it look on your body. Does it fit your lifestyle. Is it properly tailored with alterations to fit. Will the garment hold up with proper care. Good clothing is expensive and land fills are being filled with discarded clothing. Forget the trends buy for quality and longevity.

Beautiful content as always, Alice. My favourite trends for this season are dark brown, burgundy and maroon colours, structured coats, faux fur coats/jackets and slim footwear which I've always loved and never ditch. Merci ❤

I love everything minus Patagonia jacket. I think these are classic casual out wear and as a nurse I loooove Patagonia jacket and perfect for work. Def not dressy outward but I feel will never go out of style, at least here in US, we love it in So Cal.

Great tips Alice 😘 I hate biker and shearling jackets, however I believe that if a product is made from an animal, it’s important to honour that sacrifice by wearing it fully and not letting it go to waste, regardless of changing fashion trends x

The only lightweight jacket I care to own is a classically fitted, vegan leather motorcycle jacket in a soft caramel color that looks good with almost every outfit. The key to making it look feminine is in the fit and the details. The alternative is, what, a bomber jacket? Those fit even boxier.

I haven’t been feeling the moto jacket for years now, I’m more into a wool or cashmere tailored blazer or coat. I’ll hang onto my suede/leather moto jackets, I might change my mind at some point.

I purchased Versace Runway fringed moto jacket 2024. It was a significant purchase. It always receives compliments. I dress for myself not what’s trendy “in”.

What a waste to leave expensive leather jackets sitting in a wardrobe without wear for seasons. Why can't you alternate between a casual leather jacket and dress up into a blazer for more stylish days out? Leather jackets come in many lovely styles, I own many. I even own a leather blazer. I'm always alternating between my jackets, especially depending on the weather, what I'm doing, where I'm going etc. I couldn't spend that much on expensive items, only to let those who haven't yet caught onto the fact that trends are no longer, dictate what is acceptable or not. If you liked those leather jackets enough to buy them, then why not wear them? If you no longer want them, give them to those who would be very grateful for such a gift.💖

Anything made with Australian and New Zealand wool is what you should look for. The best quality and it's where the large fashion houses source their supplies. It depends on where you live. There is a brand in Australia called Country Road that has a great supply of knits from all types of wool, plus endless other brands too. I'm sure that if you Google where to buy Merino Knits in your area, there will be no shortage. Best of luck.💖

I think anything too trendy will be out of style very quickly, well tailored good quality things are never out of style.... the Patagonia jacket... this is outdoorwear, there is nothing wrong with wearing them in the Canadian Rockies or walking your dogs in them, otherwise they do not belong to the street neither this season nor in any other season. I personally dont like these giant coats either with huge shoulders, etc, they look like men's coat.... have a nice long tailored coat, it doesnt need to be that snatched, but I am still not getting these over, over, oversized ones that almost like swallow the person, especially if you are petite. The micro bag.... waste of money, have a decent bag or a clutch for occasion.. Shearling jacket, I think this is also a lifestyle piece, if you are an actual biker, you can wear it, it was never really a nice flattering statement piece, just something to fill the racks in the stores for teenagers.

As a former dog walker, I see no reason why you should wear unflattering casual clothes when walking your dog in the park, you can still wear elegant clothes, unless your dog jumps up at you with muddy paws, which they should be trained not to do...

You're not taking into account where people are residing. I live in an alpine environment and need boots with good tread on a regular basis. You're assuming that there are footpaths where we all live, which is far from reality. I own many leather jackets, plus several lined with shearling due to the colder temperatures. It's a matter of wearing what's appropriate for where we are living and our occupations. No-one cares about trends in rural areas, we wear what suits us and what we prefer to wear - not copy everyone else. Why would you think that everyone wants to look the same? I quite often get compliments on my outfits, whether you think they are on trend or not. I have my own style, which many appreciate. Who has the money to throw around simply to look like everyone else? It's a ridiculous notion. What is this obsession with wanting to all look the same anyway? We should all be comfortable with our own style, not yours. I already have far too many clothes, I'd hate to think where I'd be storing all the styles you claim are not fashionable for now and then buy a whole new wardrobe for a single season. I'm afraid this is simply absurd. Instead of pushing for everyone to look the same, come up with some helpful tips to accessorise or adjust the outfits that are already owned. I have worked in many aspects of fashion and this notion of 'being on trend' is completely outdated. It may apply within your set of friends, but it's far from reality around the globe. Who is going to spend thousands on a shearling-lined leather jacket, only to let it sit in the wardrobe until it's 'fashionable' again? I've owned a brown suede bomber jacket for over ten years now, so are you saying that I'm ahead of the trends and you're behind? Please stop pushing these unrealistic trends. Fashion used to be like that many decades ago, but luckily things changed and we started wearing whatever we felt right in, for where we lived. Just let us be ourselves.🇦🇺💖👩🏼🎨

I hate fleece jackets, there’s nothing elegant or stylish about them. Sweatshirts and sweatpants, or little gym outfits, too. I don’t know how people can stand wearing all that sweaty polyester, anyway. I’ll stick to classics in natural fabrics.
