@@lorenzsabbaer7725 actually most of the material is available in audio format, though not the polished version if Im not mistaken, as in not the final version of the bits. For those not familiar, This special was filmed in november of 2001, but George actually had already recorded his performance for that years special on september 9th and 10th in Las Vegas, which ended with a bit called "I kind of like it when a lot of people die", which was also the title of the special. I think the reason it wasnt released and this one was recorded instead should be obvious...

Lorenz Meyer Look for the material released recently called “I kinda like it when a lotta people die”. It was the material he was going to film for this special, but once the 9/11 attacks happened he changed it to the material that’s on the complaints and grievances special. He eventually did do some of it in his special Life is worth losing.

Carlin was the comedic king of seeing and speaking the unvarnished truth and making the blind see again. He speaks more agreeable observation in just one snippet of one show, than the entire history of all global religion which spans millennia. He would have made a great President of the US.

7:50 - The first time I heard that (back when I was in my early 20s) I thought to myself that a commandment like that should be the most important one of all. And I'm in my early 40s now and still believe that it is perfectly ok for someone to believe in whatever religion they want as long as they do not try to influence or convert me into believing it. Or try to get government policies passed which are going to change the way I live my life. I really wish the US government and various state governments would take the whole "separation of church and state" a little more seriously.

Dude, love your set and editing choices like 4:50 audio. I love the framing of the video at bottom center, but the only suggestion is to move the camera and change angle to make that item (closet?)in the back more centered. The table is also angled. It may not be possible sith your room setup or without conflicting with other things, but worth a shot to take this already clean setup to an even cleaner one

I've never understood the 'Thou shalt not kill' commandment. Because that order comes from the Bible, supposedly the word of God, yet that same canon orders people to stone men who lie with other men to death. Quite a big contradiction there.

In said book, he corrects so many false 'facts' that people still today talk about. A few comedians still go around and say the FALSE story about being arrested with Lenny Bruce. He was certainly arrested with Bruce. But it happened very differently than the story certain comedians keep telling.

Re: the world trade center -- this special came out in 2001 I believe. So either this special was taped and released in the last few months of 2001, or he was referring to the WTC bombing that happened in 1993, with no idea the WTC would get taken out entirely not long after this special was taped. I appreciate all the Carlin reactions (among others)!

@@smitty1647 The song was written in 1894, and yes it was VERY popular often being referred to as a song representing New Yorkers. The song also was known under the title "East Side, West Side" It has three verses of lyrics as well. You might well hear it in amusement parks today, a testament to the longevity of the song. One has to remember - there was no rock, no country music, no rap music, etc. at the time. None. Zero. Songs like this are ballads. People have no respect. This was the beginning of songs sung as ballads in bars. These days, the closest thing you see is karaoke. The one thing it's clearly not is choir music.
