If you need consoles, just look for yard sales, I got a 20 dollar ps3 that lasted me 3 years so far and a Wii with games and Wii sports physical addons for a single dollar

On a new play through I'd tie a rubber band around the jump button and walk away. Come back an hour later and be able to jump from one side of Balmora to the other in a single leap lol.

@@producerevan88 well oblivion did have the “acrobatics” skill” - as well as “athletics” THE ONLY nice thing about those two, is it gives a benefit to not fast traveling/using a horse... Although going back and playing oblivion, the fact you can’t attack off your horse REALLY hurts... I swear I could remember being able to attack while riding the horse... Must’ve been mount ‘n’ blade...

Best thing about the OG Xbox for me was soft modding. Once you rip your games to the HDD, load times become almost non-existent (and in some cases better fps), most games can be modded with PC mods, San Andreas you can even edit configs, like increase the amount of traffic on screen at any time as Xbox games are pretty much just PC games with a different executable. Only limit to mods I found were they had to be under 300mb because of the Xbox's cache size limits. But yeah used to blow my mates minds by having a GTA SA where there were General Lee's, V8 interceptors and Batmobiles cruising the streets. Soft modding essentially made your Xbox into a PC. Xbox 360 was meant to be capable of modding but they dropped that for some reason. (Guessing because DLC's became a thing thanks to the OG Xbox) Heck even managed to get the PC version of Quake III Arena running on it. Wish they still made consoles like this.

Yes, lke for pc’s u only need 60fps 1080P to run games fine so about 250+ money (U.K. for me) or go with a ps3 for... I think 100?? I’m not too sure. So I do feel like consoles are better for games but a pc can do much things

Back in the 2004 when I was a child I was in the same boat. My parents couldn't afford to get us a new pc, so me and my brother saved money and bought second hand ps2 just to play san andreas and nfs most wanted. Best gaming times in my life. No memory card at the beginning so console was running 24/7 lol

From my experience, $30 USD has been enough to purchase a ThinkPad T420 and a PS3 slim. £25 should get some considerably stronger hardware than £10.

For the price, I think I would go with the original Xbox... As long as you have the ability to soft mod it, and the component cables. I have a 250GB hard drive in mine and it's just lovely. Look up something called Ninja Massive and it's just epic. On the PC side of things, 10 pounds (like 15 dollars?) will not get you much... Probably pretty close to the same specs lol

My first PCs HDD in the early 90s cost me around $350 ($657.45 with inflation) which google says is roughly £245 (€413.04 with inflation). And that was the cheapest HDD I could find at the time, had maybe 120 MB of storage lmao

I still have my original XBOX back from 2006 when I first moved out. It was a moving home gift from my brother. It only came with an 8GB HDD but was pre-modded when he got me it. Sooner after, I upgraded the HDD to a 500GB IDE type. This used to be my go to media center to be fair. I never really played games back then. I tend to use either my mini PC or my Raspberry Pis for media nowadays. I certainly couldn't part with my XBOX, holds so many memories.

This is a great video! I’ve never personally used an original Xbox because for my semi-budget experience I managed to grab a used Xbox 360 with a bunch of bundled games and a controller for around 40£. Good advice for budget gamers and very entertaining

An OG Xbox. I got mine in 2013, and I had a lot of fun with it Jet Set Radio Future, Conker, Black, some racing games, etc. Played the hell out of it. Mine wasn't in the best shape (could not run some games for some reason, despite me taking it apart a few times to see what tf was going on), but it was a nice little machine. Gave it to my sister and her kids a couple of years back so they can have fun with it :)

@@gregoriomariano5070 Interesting just recently watched a video on Brazil's video game grey market. Eish, you guys have it rough. Last time I found a xbox it was about £60. And the new series X that costs $499 will be $731. 36. Talk about a markup,the country needs to get every last bit of tax out of the people to pay their rising dept. 🤦‍♂️ Also the series S that is $299 will be $426.69. I thought I might get one next year but nah just gonna wait 3 years like I did with the Xbox One

Hmmm, totally clear case. Techmoan did a video in which he found that clear case gear is often used in US prisons where it is required. He showed this really swish clear case CRT as well. I think one of those would go nicely with this.

I got my Xbox for $10 too, and I've had it now for about 10 years. Mine also had a "stuck" drive, but I immediately took it apart and gave the belts a good cleaning and it has been working fine ever since. I also paid $10 for my Windows 98 SE PC with a 933MHz Pentium 3 and 9600XT...I think I'd choose the Xbox, between the two...but barely.

My original Xbox is in original state, it got a good cleaning, disc drive got greased up and CPU and GPU got new thermal paste, works like a dream.

I recently picked up 2 desktops and 2 laptops on Shpock for £5. So far they’re all working. The one laptop has a weird block charger so I was unable to see if it was working. I put some fresh Mx-4 and cleaned all the dust. I bought it as untested but I think the seller thought it was all junk cos it was overheating with all the dust haha.

14:37 - I wonder how they've managed to launch HL2 on Pentium 3. If I remember correctly, the game requires SSE2, which was implemented since Pentium 4, and was not present in Coppermines and Tualatins

I first played HL2 on Xbox and found no other version matches the melancholic quality of the lighting in the first third or so of the game (up the end of the hovercraft section).

I have the same steering wheel, the rubber is nice until it degrades using any harsh cleaning products and you need something strong to get the greasy stuck on grippy texture so its smooth again, only then will it last.

A tip for when the tray gets stuck is to not tap on it, as pushing the tray in slightly is enough to dislodge it.

That's really cool, but if you were to have an extra 10-15£ you could probably grab a 4gb x360 slim, games on it are cheap and don't feel dated, and it can play xbox games as well.

Pro tip, if you smack the top of the console above the disk drive, it will get unstuck. That was extremely common in my Town.

Fun fact - if you get a long load time in Morrowind, that is the game rebooting the Xbox in the background to free up RAM.

When i left my bipolar ex i left behind the games collection i picked up off of ebay from age 21 to 25, it had, Crystal clear xbox, Psone, Nes Boxed, Sega Dreamcast,ps2, Multiple controllers for all systems ( Had a boxed nes advantage, different coloured ps1 controllers,crystal xbox controllers,ps1 guns i had about 4) all together i spent about a grand on it and it all fit in two massive IKEA blue bags... to whomever got my stuff afterwards in London, i hope you enjoy them as much as i have

Well, fun comparison for some part. But taking emulation as a plus for a console vs. the PC is like taking speed as a criteria for a Lada vs. a Ferrari. On PC you probably have teh choice of about 100 times more emulators, each with 100 times more flexibility and configurability, nearly unlimited storage and such.

There is the option to overclock the Xbox, I believe back in the day I got the CPU to about 1ghz which was quiet an impressive improvement

A few games ran in sync with the cpu clock though so oc'ing the cpu would break compatability with a few titles.

FYI The Xbox CD drive has a manual tray release that you can press with something like a paper clip if the tray gets stuck :) No more smacking

I have an OG Crystal Xbox and I still play on it! Had a great library and quality exclusives! I use it with a HDMI adapter for higher quality.

Great find! Make sure to open up the xbox and remove the clock capacitor or it will kill the console. They leak and destroy traces on the mobo if you're not careful.

Been trying to find good deals on older consoles like this and it has been a real challenge. It must have taken ages for you to stumble across a listing that good.

Look for "for parts" and listings saying untested. Usually means they couldn't be assed to test it first. If youre looking for Xbox look for untested that mentions orange and green lights. Usually means they just didnt plug it into a TV.

Phantom Crash! :D I played the crap out of this. Also the Xbox had a UDMA 33 cable as standard, but could be upgraded to UDMA 66, with a newer cable. It made quite a difference when i did this simple cable swap. Which improves load times and cachespeed. You could also upgrade the xbox to 128mb ram, soldering another 64mb chip onto the board to improve media centre usage.

I used to own an audi a4 like that for my first car. she was a beater but I got it for 2k from a guy that repairs cars and flips them with a bit over 150,000 miles. For my fellow car guys, it was a v-6 2.8L 5 speed manual transmission. Not the dinky 1.8 liter v-4 eco turbo charged version you can still find driving around. This baby could do 0-60 in about 6 sec. which at the time was huge especially with the quattro system that baby launched from rest. Little history lesson it was the first car audi made for civilian use. If you want to talk real power though you have to respect the v-8 s4 line.

Brilliant V6 that, was the go to performance option in the old Audi Coupe, variable inlets or something like that if I remember correctly. Loved my Audi, powerful and comfortable but very very boring sadly.
