*I WILL NEVER FORGET HOW I OVERCAME MY NASTY BIPOLAR DISORDER, I USED DIFFERENT MEDICATIONS BUT NONE WORKED, I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE COME ACROSS DR OKOUROMI ON KZbin WHOSE HERBAL MEDICATION FINALLY HELPED ME TO GET RID OFF IT COMPLETELY. IT HAS BEEN 4 MONTHS NOW AND I HAVEN'T EXPERIENCE ANY SIGN OF BIPOLAR DISORDER AND I'M COMPLETELY GREATFUL FOR THAT. **#DROKOUROMI**...😍😍😍😍*

I'm bipolar and during hypomanic episodes I used to not sleep and roam around in forests at my college at 7am, OBSESSED over creative projects and binge watching TV shows, desperately make gifts for people and it becomes my literal life's mission to give them to them, get obsessed with certain music artists, become hyperspiritual, post nudes on SM, obsessively read scientific textbooks, and wear weird clothes. Lol. Needless to say I can relate to this video so much. I am on meds (lamictal 300mg) and I have not experienced a true manic state in probably 3 years, a few things here and there but for the most part it seems like BD has been basically erased from my life. This sometimes makes me miss that part of myself and that alone makes me want to quit meds. But I keep a list of all of the crazy things I've done and felt on my phone to reference at any time and it always makes me rethink. Thank you for your video Lizzie. I hope you make more content about your bipolar experience with mania!! Maybe do collab vids with other bipolar people too.

My partner of 17 years finally was diagnosed as bipolar 1. She’s been hospitalized 5 times since we’ve been together. In the last year and a half she’s been hospitalized 3 x. Listened to your 90% divorce rate and I read that statistic. She recently was hospitalized Christmas Eve and got out January 15. Back in 6 weeks ago and she’s going to to be released to a group home for a month. Interesting to hear what you’re symptoms are. I’m still reading and watching videos on bipolar 1. She was misdiagnosed with depression until this point. Psychiatrist said she’s managing on micro doses and I’ve never seen her awake for 2 days, more depressed than manic, but the condition about not taking her meds scares me because I’ve been babysitting for the last 7 years and idk if I can take it anymore. One more try now that she’s serious about not relapsing. ??? You talk like she does, btw. Fast, comprehensive, informative, and idk why I like it. I’m the opposite. She hates the psych ward but last time she fainted because of no sleep or food.

Thanks Lizzie, lovely to hear I’m not alone! I’m bp & at age 11 used to sneak out of my bedroom window at 1am & walk around my area in the ink black night looking for ghosts in areas I knew people had died like an abandoned quarry in the middle of a forest in the middle of nowhere. 👻

For mania and hypergraphia, one of the best fictional accounts is in the classic novel, _Herzog,_ by Saul Bellow, which recounts the trajectory of a divorced man who slowly begins to unwind. Well worth a look.

Also, if you keep your psych doctor appointments and take your meds regularly, there should be no reason to have to admit yourself. I talk with my nurse practitioner every 6-8 weeks. Still no in person appointments. She said maybe this summer. You have a good evening, Lizzie whatever time it is for you.

Breakthrough symptoms can be bad. I'm consistently on meds and I almost admitted myself this weekend. I'm calling my psychiatrist today but appointments are booked a month out. No one should feel weak or ashsmed if they are following their treatment plan and need to be admitted to the hospital.

Lizzie, I forgot my medication last night. I couldn't really sleep last night. So I feel really weird tonight. I'm going to bed early tonight. I'm taking my psych meds tonight. Depakote helps me to sleep. Sleep helps the voices go away, that's what my doctors always told me. I've also started taking melatonin (I got permission from my gen. doc to take it as needed). So, I'll probably take one of those tonight too. I remember in high school I thought I had insomnia because I would stay up so late doing homework or projects or whatever.

I'm bipolar also. I'm a practicing counter. I was almost in the big accident. Also I've never even thought about it. It was only 2 lanes. There was a tractor that was very slow when a round it and I almost hit another car.. It took a long time for me to learn my lesson. I was coming home from work 'cause I worked at t University. I was on the 113. There was a car's really slow. And the slow lane so I went around it passes person up. Turn and look behind me to make sure with safe unfortunately. There was a another car stopped in the slowly that I did not see. I hid it so hard just lady in it up in the exit. As she broke her leg. I learned my lesson.. Since now I have kids. Am I wife? I'm careful what I do.

Please stop taking Seroquel, that is actually what is making you crazy Lizzie.
@LizziesAnswers
@LizziesAnswers Жыл бұрын
I only started Seroquel at the end of 2017 and had huge mania before that. Seroquel massively reduced my mania and changed my life in such an amazing way. The studies have proven it does this for many bipolar people. Seroquel is an antipsychotic, so it decreases mania. Antidepressants can make bipolar people go manic, but antipsychotics decrease mania. I will stay awake for 3 days straight if I don't take Seroquel. It's the only thing that makes me sleep.
