Here are 10 steps to learn any language: 1. Set a Goal: First and foremost, decide on the language you want to gain proficiency in. Have a clear goal in mind, such as learning English. 2. Research Resources: Explore various resources for language learning. Look into language courses, books, online resources, and language learning apps. 3. Acquire Basic Grammar and Vocabulary: Start learning the basic grammar rules and commonly used vocabulary of the language. Understanding grammar will help you grasp the structures of the language more easily. 4. Expand Your Vocabulary: In addition to everyday commonly used words, learn new words regularly. Strive to continuously improve your vocabulary. 5. Improve Your Listening Skills: Develop your listening skills to understand correct pronunciation and the speed of speech. Utilize sources like movies, music, or podcasts in the target language. 6. Practice Speaking: Speaking practice is crucial while learning a language. Find a language partner to express yourself or join language learning groups. Engaging in speaking practice will boost your confidence. 7. Cultivate Reading Habits: Read materials in the language, such as books, newspapers, magazines, or blogs. Reading expands your vocabulary, visualizes grammar, and helps you understand the structures of the language. 8. Enhance Your Writing Skills: Practicing writing is an effective way to reinforce grammar and vocabulary. Engage in activities like keeping a journal, writing short essays, or sharing writings on language learning platforms. 9. Immerse Yourself in the Language: Exposing yourself to an environment where the language is spoken can accelerate your learning process. Visit countries where the language is spoken or engage with local communities for practice opportunities. 10. Practice Consistently: Learning a language requires time and consistent effort. Aim to practice language skills every day and focus on continuous self-improvement. Be patient and don't be afraid of making mistakes, as they are a natural part of language learning.

I started learning Turkish on my own cause I watch a ton of Dizis and love the culture, and I can now pick up probably 70% w/ no subs. Speaking is a lot to be desired but I’m starting to listen to Turkish music too and read to understand better

Thanks for all of your instructions. I’m teaching myself Turkish and it has been amazing. I watch your KZbin videos and they have helped. I already know 600 words of Turkish and watch Turkish shows and listen to Turkish songs. Thanks Resat

My biggest problem is the sentence structure. Being an English speaker their sentences are backward to me. I can understand a lot but have trouble speaking it because my English tongue gets in the way. 🤣🤣🤣

I have been trying to learn to speak Turkish for a year and a half…I make a course at Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, I red books in Turkish, I understand 75-80% when someone speaks Turkish…but I don’t understand why I speak like a baby…😢 . I have Turkish friends and I would like to surprise them…speaking Turkish and not English with them. I am ashamed if I make a mistake and think I have a blockage . 🤦🏻♀️😞

Us long us it's not your mother language you don't have to be ashamed every word that you say in turkish it's actually an effort that you make and it's cool Don't forget that you will never be able to speak properly if you don't try and practice which is basically making mistakes

As an American with no passport, seek opportunities to speak with native speakers where you are: refugees and ethic neighborhoods. And don’t forget churches! If your target language is for example (modern) Greek, there are often Greek Orthodox churches that offer classes. Volunteering with refugee assistance groups are also possible, such as with Ukrainian refugees. Me, I moved to a place with many native speakers of Norwegian.
