I used to have that, and for the longest time my solution was to braid it to give it waves similar (sadly, not as deeply waved) to mine. After a while, like a couple months, I found that I could braid it before bed and then wet and put styler through it in the morning. The braiding helped it get longer and healthier. Longer not because it was helping it grow, but helped keep the ends from breaking off. Healthier in that my wave pattern evened out so I had less straight pieces. Maybe that could help?

Only use a wide tooth comb when it's wet. Brush it out before you shower, and if your hair needs it use the wide tooth comb in the shower when you have lots of conditioner on. And you can use the wide tooth comb when you get out of the shower just be very gentle(:

Also I always have my hair braided, because I get told my hair is poofy and people touch it. Thanks for these tips, I will definitely use some of them! Also the length of my hair is down to my behind, not to mention its so thick. I have a question, people tell me not to use hair spray because it makes it more frizzy, is this true? Btw you have a new sub. ☺

+Electric Motivation thank you for subscribing 💕 love that the fam is growing. I think it's fine to brush your hair with a comb or your fingers in the shower as long as you coat your hair with conditioner! Otherwise damage can occur to your curls(: and I use hairspray if I curl or straighten my hair, which is rare. But in a day to do basis I use a cream or gel in my hair to make the waves more defined and less poofy

i have had so many questions about tip #4 (when to brush your hair) and bc I was so new to youtube when i created this video i didn't know how to explain myself very well. it is okay to to do the following depending on your hair type: dry brush your hair before the shower: best for waves and loose curls OR coat your hair in conditioner and detangle with your fingers in the shower: best for curls and ringlets It is not okay in my opinion to brush your hair after the shower. I find it changes my hair pattern completely and causes breakage and frizz.

Tips from the Curly Girl Method: - Try ditching shampoo. If you can't go without, try sulphate free shampoos. Sulfates are extremely drying and strip the hair of all oils, the bad AND the good ones. - ONLY comb your hair while it is wet and full of conditioner. Do it gently and carefully, using your fingers first, then a comb if you want a more thorough combing. Brushing/combing your hair whie it is dry can cause more damage and breakage. - Avoid silicones in your products.

I onlyyyy recommend brushing your hair when it's dry directly before you get into the shower bc my hair turns into a puffball too lol😂 and your curls might be tighter than mine, so I would suggest loading up conditioner onto your hair and detangling it with your fingers in the shower if it hurts to brush it while dry(: thanks for watching

Um whaaat? My hair has to be combed out after the shower or I’d look like a welfare recipient.
@FunkyOrangeMonkey8 жыл бұрын
I don't know where you got your information for #4. Every curly girl I've ever known brushes their hair in the shower. Honestly, detangling while dry just seems absolutely insane to me. My hair is so curly and crazy that it gets ridiculously tangled and is extremely painful to detangle when dry. If I ever do, I actually get MORE pulling and breakage if I brush it dry. The only way I can detangle my hair is in the shower with loads of conditioner and my Wet Brush. As long as you're using a brush with flexible bristles like the Wet Brush or a wide tooth comb or something, I really don't see how brushing your hair wet is a problem. The trick is just being really gentle.
@indiabatson268 жыл бұрын
I should have clarified that these tips are based on my hair type personally! So someone like you who has a tighter curl pattern could not brush ur hair dry. I think detangling your wet hair in the shower with tons of conditioner is great too. I just don't recommend brushing wet hair with a regular brush.
@FunkyOrangeMonkey8 жыл бұрын

All my life, every hairdresser that I've gone to has complained about my hair and my oldest sister( who has wavy straight hair) would always tell me to go to Supercuts to cut my hair but I get insulted because those people don't know how to deal with my hair. I hate it when my oldest sister and my mom talk bad about my hair. What can I do to convince them that my kind of hair is beautiful?
@tealacollins90767 жыл бұрын
Kiara Eijo Don't worry about convincing them. It's YOUR hair that grows from YOUR head that YOU will be living with for the rest of your life. It does not belong to them, therefore it is none of their concern. Love your beautiful hair, take care of it, and rock it. Don't let anybody rob of you of your confidence because they have an issue with your hair. To me, that says that, in some way, THEY are the ones that are insecure. (By the way, I wasn't trying to bash your family at all).

Love this video 💕 I have a curly/wavy hair, and I hated it. It's just so hard to manage and it was my biggest insecurity, at school.. I kept touching my hair and tried my best to make it straight. My friend said that she doesn't like my hair :( and it honestly offended me. Since then I'm always unconfident with my hair and always complaining "Why can't I have a straight hair?!?" But step by step I learned that I should be confident and grateful with my hair, I should've not change myself just because what others think. This video inspired me too, you're right "Curly hair is cool, and any other hair is also cool." Thank you for that 😊 Sorry if I get too serious here but I just need to say this and we should all start to love ourself.

My hair is so healthy after three years of no dying, no heat, and no hairspray or nothing like that. Just amazing hair treatments, hair masks, and careful handling and trimming! Soft, shiny, moveable hair now🥰 My hair is not curly, just boring straight/wavy-ish hair lol wish I had curly hair but whatever.

You've totally changed my vibe with my natural curly hair. I had short hair for yeeaaaars and only in the past year and a half I've grown it out and had to learn how to care for my hair. I straightened my hair all the time and you've made me love my curls. Thankyou.

you don't understand how much I appreciate this! I have hair v much like yours that i wore straiht every day and i tried to get it permed sraight but ythe chemicals destroyed the hair sample i gave my hair dresser.... Finally accepted that I need to embrace my curls, I'm using LUSH products, a coconut shampoo called curly wurly and a repairing conditioner called retread. I'm also using their hot hair treatments and their leave in conditioner called R&B. my hair is already becoming less dry and brittle, and becoming shinier and much much lesss frizzy! Trying to moisturize as much as possible by leaving the conditioner in over night if i can!! Working wonders, would highly reccomend the products!

i straiten my hair a lot n used to straiten it every day. n lately i've been looking at my curls a lot when my hair is drying and i love them i do, it's just when it gets completely dry that i'm insecure ab it bc it's very fuzzy and fuzziness is unflattering to me. i've just been trying to love myself more in general lately and it's hard, but this video gave me the confidence to try harder bc these were some good tips that made sense and ones i haven't heard of yet, so thank you.‼️

Lady Sapphyra honestly the brushing your hair only before you shower, using a cotten t shirt to dry your hair, and no heat are the most effective treatments. Ohh and if youre on a budget id recommend buying kandooo, detangler its a kids detangler thats sulfate, paraban, dye free so its great for your hair and its make your hair so soft and managable. I buy mine from meijer its like 8 dollars. Believe me its a game changerrr!

I have a couple questions: 1) how do you keep your curls over night? Do you use product and then spray your hair with water in the morning to revive your curls? I find when I do that, my hair tends to be frizzy, but better curls than if I don’t wet my hair in the morning. 2) I work out every day and therefore, sweat quite a bit. You said (and I’ve read) we shouldn’t shampoo our hair every day, but my roots get greasy when I don’t and I feel gross since I work out. I even started getting dandruff because I’d shampoo every other day, while using conditioner every day (it might have been because I started going to college in a different state with harder water, too tho-not sure). I use dandruff shampoo now, which helped with dandruff but is probably bad for my hair.

If you're still struggling with frizz (Which I was) try using olaplex no.2 as a leave in! It's AMAZING. I shampoo with noughty wave hello, condition with bar none conditioner bar (RINSE WELL) and then while my hair is dripping wet, I throw in a small amount of olaplex no. 2, scrunch with a t shirt, then shea moisture curl smoothie, scrunch again and then plop in a t shirt for 10 mins. IT. WORKS.

My tip that I have found is to start at the ends first because it can cause more snarl starting at the base and snapping. I use a metallic pic which slicks through my wet hair. I will never brush my hair when it's dry because I have seen so much more break off. If you haven't watched JustCurly videos before she is against brushing hair pretty much altogether. If you detangle, do so with conditioner in the shower. If you brush it messes up the "clumps". I think all curly beauties have amazing tips, and everyone's hair might react different. It's really trial and error on all things beauty. :)
