Winner of a video, I've been looking for "how much does a computer programmer make a year?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Fanilliam Nonpareil Formula - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is an awesome one off guide for discovering how to create your own programming language without the normal expense. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my neighbour got cool results with it.

I'm loving your videos! I'm just starting to learn about code and I would love to know a little more about each language and why they are used for what they are. I'm assuming that higher levels of abstraction come with lower performance maybe? How would an organization evaluate each of these languages?

Woah the history of php is quite interesting! I remember dabbling with it when i tried to create a website content management system from scratch before switching to wordpress because it was looking quite tacky to build it from the ground up. But I was quite amazed at how php can literally inject html and css in such a dynamic way into an html file. Tripped me out, very organic indeed.

React is just a library for JavaScript, while the different cross platform development solutions are interesting, comparing things like React, Flutter, Xamarin, even Unity should probably be it’s own video and kept separate from the languages themselves.

Not sure if you can see this but for most tasks will be capable by any language. Some languages are suited for some tasks (html and web development for example), while python might be good for data and machine learning.

I wouldn’t call C# multi-paradigm as whole code must sit inside classes... in contrary Python is truly multi-paradigm, speaking of C# is worth noting the effort MS puts to enable multi-platform ability for the language (.Net core)… future seems bright for C# 😉

Clojure, a dialect of Lisp is gaining some traction. There is an application domain where few programmers work: safety-critical software. This is a domain where a software mistake can kill or maim humans. For that domain, the ideal language is Ada. Ada is designed more as an engineering tool than simply a programming language. Much of the focus is on designing unique, application-specific data types that are constrained to prevent accidents in the algorithms.

Functional programming is just actually procedural programming known to the C language. It can some times be a huge problem hence the reason C++ was created with just the OOP added to C language. C++, Ruby and JavaScript is my languages right now.

Fun fact, C++ is actually 2 languages, it’s not accurate to call it Object Oriented when a Turing complete functional language was found within the template instantiation mechanism, also you compared Go to C++, one is garbage collected and is dependent of a runtime, the other one is C++. You forgot Rust btw.

@ninesquared81
@ninesquared81 3 жыл бұрын
Like the cheapest one. Of course, it does depend on what you use to write your code, but a simple text editor like Notepad or Notepad++ can be used to write pretty much any language and ian't very demanding. You'll also need software to compile/interpret your code which may be a bit more demanding but shouldn't be too bad.
