So lovely! Everything turned out beautifully. I do have a tip on hanging the curtains with clips. Instead of clipping the fabric flat as you did, make 3-4” folds (pleats) and clip the folds where the fabric meets, the clip will feel like you’re using it sideways, but they will hang so nice and look like an expensive pinch pleated curtain.

Great job 😉 the thing I enjoy the most about your videos Sherry. Is that you use a lot of what you already have. Bye simply up dating it. So many of the decorating u tuber's are about buying constantly off Amazon, Hobby Lobby, Ross, Home Good's. I think you put more thought into your decorating and frugality to your projects. I appreciate that about you. I can't justify constantly buying the pricey thing's. I'm a big garage sales and thrift store person myself. Just like this weekend is one of the very up scale neighborhoods in my area subdivision spring garage sales. There stuff is amazingly beautiful and low priced. They just want to get rid of it. So I have my money ready. I get tons of compliments about how beautiful my home is. When I tell people it came from a garage sales and thrift store they say no way. Yes way. Sorry to be so long with this. Sherry your my favorite u tuber, I always learn from you thanks for that ☺️.

Nooo! It's unfair to expect from us to pick a favourite when all of the projects are so stunning, tastefully and stylish. But if you insist... Maybe the bookcases and that brass rollers on the chest.❤

Your bedroom looks refreshed but serene. The bookcases and lamp shades were big projects but you made them look very doable. I especially like the way the chest turned out with the products you used and also loved how the paper-lined boxes brought focus to the small items that they held. Keeping Zoe's bed and the your husband's coat rack in their same place show how important it is to keep rooms homey, familiar and livable for everyone. Well done Sherry!

Love your William Morris inspired bedroom makeover! I love anything WM and my favorites were probably your hanging a landscape picture over the curtain (WM loved his Cotswold landscape!), the wrapping paper prints & the lampshades. I thought, that's a lot of cutting and ironing & gluing! But soooo worth it! So high-end looking! Oh and the re-finish product is going on my shopping list!

Everything you did looks lovely! The vintage frames look great with the new artwork and i am lusting over that wicker chair you brought into the bedroom!!! And the way you made the bookshelves ‘built in’ really gave it an upscale refresh!

Hi Sherry! I also love William Morris and your bedroom makeovers are beautiful. I love them all but my favourite was the raising of the bookcases off the floor and adding the crown moulding. Those simple tricks really elevate the bookcases to high end pieces. ❤️😘

Oh wow! This bedroom was beautiful before, but it is even more so now. The bookcases look fantastic. The lampshades are so pretty! I was glad to see that the dresser was left in the room. That was my favorite piece from the last video. In this redo, my favorite piece is Zoe’s bed…. just kidding! For me, it’s the bookshelves. The color, combined with the staging is so beautiful. The finishing touches, making it look built-in, sealed my choice.

You are such a powerhouse of creativity!!!! How do you do it week, after week, after week??? I also love William Morris and enjoyed how you changed your bedroom to better match his colors and the Victorian style of the period. Raising the bookshelf was quite the project, plus those lovely lampshades were both such a big improvement. My hat goes off to you every week watching you demonstrate countless projects. Just like a magician pulls the rabbit out of the hat, you are able to magically able to find what you need in your huge 'stash' collection. I love watching what you do, but not having that 'magical' stash available for me, it is rare that I can consider recreating most of the projects I most like ~ sigh... Still, it's a pleasure and you are absolutely magical.

There are some great ideas in here Sherry that anyone could use. I've used old frames for different kinds of artwork but never thought of using really nice wrapping paper. I loved your last bedroom make over, but I love this one as well. I am a huge Wm Morris fan too! I like how you were able to build off and leave in some of the English Cottage look from last time, especially the window seat and some of the butterfly prints. We are trying to make our guest room have a somewhat western, lived-in look without being kitchy. I loved the little fern stand table you redid for this project. That would make a great table on the side of the bed. I am still looking for lamps and art and anything else that seems to fit the vibe. Thanks for the inspiration.

Oh my goodness! I love all of these ideas to refresh a bedroom. I love the idea of creating built-in looking shelving brilliant!. For decoupaging I've found that the best way to decoupage large items like the ones you did for your frames is to use a small iron or a very light heat iron. All you do is put the decoupage the mod podge on the item that you're going to update and let it dry. Once it's dry, put the paper on top and then using a parchment paper right above it. You iron the paper onto the mod podge surface and the heat reactivates the glue and it is perfection in decoupaging. Hope that helps. Always enjoy watching you

That William Morris bedspread was an exciting find, and the resulting room is gorgeous (my old bungalow would love to have this room!) If you seek more images to frame for this room, consider Walter Crane prints, as a book lover you will recognize these illustrations and they are so in sync with W. Morris style. On another topic: it would be faster and easier to craft those many strips on the cute lamp shades by instead cutting very long fabric strips length-wise on the fabric (parallel to selvage edge) then turn and press back only one edge. Finally cut the pressed long strips to the short lengths needed and glue the unturned flat edge onto the lamp shade, leaving the turned edge to show as a pressed pleat.
@CanterburyCottage Жыл бұрын
Thank you for these tips! I didn’t even think of making the pleats in this manner; it definitely would have saved me some time! I’m looking Walter Crane prints right now!
