Your form is correct...I'm an ex student of the Australian Institute of Fitness...and have been using weights since I was 19. I'm 62 now. I have only had two or three weeks in my life without this consistency (weights) and then by age 59 approx I was over it and got lazy (after so many years of weight resistance) and I started to gain weight and also get flabbier skin and looser muscles. In only 3 weeks of back at the gym with consistency, I feel stronger again and everything is tightening up again! Trust me, muscles have memory, so if you fell off the wagon, just get back on. What helps me stay motivated is noise cancelling head set for all the noise in the gym and listening to motivating music and or exercise and healthy living books, motivational speakers, podcasts etc.! I absolutely love going to the gym again!! Thanks for you excellent examples! Spot on! :)

I have been Diagnosed w/Osteopenia in my Back/Lumbar 1 & 4 & Hips & it has gotten worse over the last few years, just me being Lazy. No fractures. I'm Slowly finding my way back! I started doing the Stomping & Heel Drops & started Walking again. I have OsteoArthritis in my Knees so not too much Jumping for me. Gonna get back to my Yoga, Lite Weight Lifting, Resistance Bands & Pilates as well. Thank you for sharing your Story, it has "Motivated" me ❤

I have- three to twenty pound dumbells now and a weighted vest for walks. (very snug/10lb) I worked up from 4lbs. You are doing a great job. Rows are so good or your back with good form. I'm trying to do 20 but only do one set, then 15. I just bought 20 at Target....that was a workout getting them home. : )

Hi GloryB - The adduction/abduction machine in the gym is an excellent alternative to resistance band clamshells, allowing for a greater amount of weight to be used. Also wonderful is the leg press. Every single doctor told me I absolutely could not reverse osteoporosis. I can now officially call b.s. on that. I employ as much HIIT as possible, and it has been very effective. One of the doctors who has criticized you admonished that if one has taken anastrozole, all bets were off with respect to building bone. Well I improved my scores despite that. So, before he deigns to criticize you, I'm calling b.s. on him too. Never say never, bruh.

I have always been Athletic, Walked & Worked out then I Retired & got so lazy!! I have been Diagnosed w/Osteopenia of the Spine/Lumbar 1 & 4 & Hips & it has gotten worse over the last few years, just me being Lazy. I aslo have Scoliosis of the Spine but the Doctors never address that re: my Dexa Scans. Thank goodness, no fractures! I'm Slowly finding my way back! I started doing the Stomping & Heel Drops & started Walking again & boy are my Hips Sore😊 I have OsteoArthritis in my Knees so, not too much Jumping for me. Gonna get back to my Yoga, Lite Weight Lifting, Resistance Bands & Pilates as well. Thank you so much for bring here for us😊

Yes, you start by doing the exercises you can, get stronger from those, and then change the exercises to be more challenging as you gain strength.

I got it all i got scolosis of 40% curveature. I wear 2 pound ankle weights when i walk. Love exercising as much as i can even in pain. Btw i had a Birthday july 9th iam now 66 yrs old 😭

73 here with 9 fractures-3 before doc’s found out. 6 more following 4 months. 2 years now. First doc quit. I think he realized he should have found this. Next doc said I was Swiss cheese and handed me an Advanced Directive! I’m still crying, but working the best I can with food and more. And also scoliosis 38% before breaks.

Hi GloryB, I am 60 and just had my first Dexiscan, which shows I have early osteopenia. I'm having lapiplasty surgery on my left foot in October. I will def speak with my physician on when to resume the jumping exercises. I am jumping and 30 second intervals and landing on my heels. Do you have any other suggestions to help me after I'm able to begin the jumping exercises? According to my surgeon, I should be able to resume normal exercises 4-6 months after surgery. Thank you for these excellent videos!

What are safe exercises to do following several compression fractures that are over three months old to begin strengthening your muscles and build bone density again safely.

With those types of issues, I suggest asking your doctor to refer you to physical therapy. A physical therapist will be the best person to look at your overall physical condition to teach you the best exercises for you now, and as you gain strength, will change the exercises to suit your situation as you improve.

Hi Glory! Thank you for your informative videos. I have watched one and will continue to watch more. For the jumping exercise, I saw that you were jumping on hardwood floor. Is that because a hard impact is needed? if I were to place an exercise mat below and jump on it, would the softer landing on the mat not work as well as landing on hardwood floor? Hope to hear your kind reply which will be so helpful to me. Thank you so much!

That is correct. But you could start with jumping on a mat for a few weeks to get yourself used to jumping. Then switch to a hard floor with no mat.

@@gloryb-tv Thank you very much for your kind confirmation, will do so! I also watched another video of yours on heel drops and march walking, those are done on a mat. I assume it's just like the jump, start on something soft and then progress to harder floor, right?

I'll skip ankle weights for walking. I have them for resistance training, but I use resistance bands more often.

I typically alternate days. But for the foramenal stenosis that I also have, I do certain exercises daily.
