I am 74 and dreadfully out of shape. I only could do 40 heel drops not holding on to the chair. Really feel it. The stretching felt wonderful, did not need to hold on. I am still slim and very petite with extreme osteoporosis from chemo and heredity. I broke my pelvis last year. In my 60s, I speed walked 6 miles a day, 5 x per week. I will do this workout every day to gain strength and balance. This should also help with figure skating. Downloading the video and doing it every day until I perfect it.

I know your channel is for older women but I am an older man with osteopenia and I wanted to share with you an idea I am trying to grow bone and I will try to remember, in about a year and a half, to update you on if it works (after the next dexa-scan). Because I have major issues with plantar fasciitis, rather than jumping and stomping, I am using my arms instead. I purchased push up stands and I do a ballistic push up (where I throw myself up off the ground) and I land abruptly on the push up stands (that also were airborne when I did the push up). I keep bruising and breaking ribs and I am hoping this will help build up the upper body bone density some. Maybe this will help. Just sharing this with you. You are an inspiration! So glad I found you! I’m 73 and recent diagnosis after DEXA scan went from osteopenia to osteoporosis. I’m determined to reverse this. Couldn’t tolerate Fosamax with horrible back muscle cramps side effects. Glad there’s some choices here as I’m also at the age where jumping causes issues unless I’ve emptied the old bladder. 🤭 Thank you so much!

It’s a good idea to do marching inside the house rather than go out walking when it’s too cold or raining! Will try for 3’ first to see if it’s ok for me and not to hurt my calf! I have a problem with the calf! Thx for your video!❤

These are great tips as I just had my 3rd bone scan since October 2018 and now have osteopenia in femur neck on right and left side! I Believe its from the Anastrozole I've been on since June 2021 for breast cancer endocrine therapy that my new oncologist said I need to stay on another 2.5 yrs...January 2024 is my 5 yr total endocrine treatment as I was on Tamoxifen 2.5 yrs in premenopause. I'm 56 and I need to correct this now so I don't have to do an additional prescription for bone loss from Aromatase Inhibitors! Thank You Beverly

Dexa 3.5 so i stomp and stretch, lift weights every day. Will det another scan to see any differences. Anything to stay off meds

Just sharing my personal experience! Since I started applying castor oil on my knees, my knee pain is almost gone. Just apply some good quality castor oil on the knees and massage well.

Thank you very much for making this video and putting it on youtube. Recently I was diagnosed with osteopenia and luckily doctor didn’t prescribe any medicines but advised me to exercise and take supplements along with nutritious food. For the last two weeks I have been doing these exercises daily believing it will strengthen my bones!

Hello Gloria, Thank you so much for your videos. I will add this to my current exercises that I have gotten back into since my diagnosis with osteoporosis. I am 54 and have gotten back into aerobics. There’s lots of movement of the entire body. I enjoy it in the comfort of my own home following workout videos I subscribe to. Is aerobics good enough to build bone?

@@andreadeleon7599 It likely depends on the severity of the pain and what is actually going on deep inside that area. Have you worked with a physical therapist on graduated exercises that will relieve the pain? And did the PT say you definitely have sciatica pain? (I ask because when I had spinal stenosis pain at L4/L5 and worked with my PT, he said it wasn't sciatica, and when he told me that he nearly started laughing because so many people he has encountered claim "sciatica" pain when it's actually from some other source.) If you've worked with a PT in the past, they're usually open to getting a question from former patients to ask whether or not a particular exercise is okay to do now, or is there a graduated way to work it into your exercise routine. I have my PT's email address and he will answer questions about past exercises I did while working with him.

Thank you for your time to reply my message. Year 2019, I underwent MRI and I was diagnosed. Lumbar Spine MRI: Prolonged left sciatica. At L4-L5 desiccated, mildly narrowed disc with slight spondylolisthesis. I did PT several times but the pain in the sciatica still there on and off. I'm using tens machine to relief the pain and it helps but still keep coming back again. I'm still doing my exercise from the PT I worked with before. Now that I have an Osteoporosis I need to do the exercise to keep my bones strong. @@gloryb-tv

Is there such a thing as a too padded shoe? I currently have HOKA sneakers and they are pretty cushiony. Thanks for your input & Thanks so much for this video! I just started today❤

I'm not familiar with HOKA shoes. I don't take chances with my feet - flat feet, narrow feet, sensitive feet, surgery on both feet. I wear good shoes.

⁠@@gloryb-tvHoka’s were one brand recommended by podiatrist & custom brace provider. I have had surgeries on both feet, collapsing arches, flat feet, narrow feet & extra narrow sensitive heels. Tried many styles & brands (2 week trial in house) but purchased 2 pairs Hoka “Arahi 7”. They are very stable. I had never heard of Hoka before.
