MUSIC: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5fcXqF_irOUaaM The music is in the description. The music is almost always in the description. CHECK THE DESCRIPTION PLS. I got so many comments last time asking for the music which was in the description. So after doing the first one, I got a ton of comments saying "what about ______" or "you forgot ________". So I took some of those suggestions and talked about them here :) Also, are you guys cool with me talking about sitcoms like Full House? I watched a lot of them on Nick at Night when I was younger so I thought it was fitting :3

Mister Rogers is the very definition of a pure human being. He understands the harshness that is in the world and explains it in a way that children can understand it in a very simple but educating way. We did not deserve that man.

@@srxberryxmilk1393: Not necessarily. The topics in general are always cold, but he always managed to address these issues that don't make it completely inappropriate for kids. It's like how Mr. Rogers gave a warning at the beginning of one episode where he addresses violence and shootings, which was made after the murder of John Lennon. It's also huge shame that a lot of kids shows now don't take as much risks like they once did.

He's one of those people who'll listen to your problems and help you in the correct way and seems to word things correctly. He must've been such an inspiraton... rest in peace x

He really was. I was old enough when he passed - I'd just turned 12 - to know that he was a real person. I knew that he wasn't just reading from a script in each episode when he spoke to us directly. He meant every word from the bottom of his heart. Coming from a split family where I sometimes felt like little more than a bargaining chip, it meant a lot to me to hear his closing lines every day. I learned a lot from him, we all did, and he cared about each an every one of us, even those he never met. Then, one Saturday evening at my grandparents' house, Mom-mom mentioned during dinner that Fred Rogers had passed away. I cried until I ran out of tears, but my father told me that the best way I could remember him would be to follow his example. I haven't always done a good job, but I try my best.

Mines is a similar topic, but it is different, but im sure others had parents like Mines too. My parents were never married but still had us and they cared for us, but they ended up splitting when me and my sister were pretty young, which in my sisters opinion might actually had an effect on me with my mental health, saying that I might have started having problems with separation. We still get to see and go to my dads house, but because of this pandemic, we can't go with him to the house because of where he works, but he is still very cautious of his surroundings. Even though they split, I knew they still loved each other, even my dad says that he still loves my mom and wants to be with her. Im glad that I still have them both, even when they are separated

When I was in elementary school, there was a kid with autism in my daycare. I asked the adults why he acted the way he did, and they told me he was autistic. Of course, being young and not knowing a lot, I thought they meant "artistic." I remember most kids making fun of him or talking about him negatively behind his back, but even as a kid, I knew better. I feel bad for never acting up sooner and standing up for the poor kid. That is why I think it is important to teach children about autism, and more than just that.

I think kids still need to be taught how to be safe on the web. People are getting too comfortable and risky with it by just handing their kids a tablet or phone and let them do what they want, and not explaining the dangers to them. I remember my parents were scared about me having a myspace when I was 16, and now it's the total opposite with parents now. They don't have that fear anymore.
@Lauren_210
@Lauren_210 5 жыл бұрын
I remember when my older brother got punished for over a month by our parents after he posted a profile picture of him on his MySpace holding a fake rifle that was found in our storage room in the basement of the apartment. At the time in 2008, he was 14, I was 12, and he asked me at the time to help him take the picture for him. Luckily, I didn’t get into trouble because they knew that it was not my fault and didn’t know what I was doing. Facebook, Twitter, and KZbin were in its early years and given that I was a bit young to have my own social media accounts around 2007/2008, I didn’t have to deal with those precautions. It’s crazy as to how much social media has changed within the past 10-15 years and how kids are getting younger and younger when using social media without knowing the precautions behind them.

“A gem fuse against their will” “(Jasper) begins inflicting the same unwanted fusion on other gems” I’ve never seen Steven Universe but that definitely seems to be a lot darker than just gem fusing, especially when you said it can resemble sexual intimacy.

Another really good metaphor is Sardonyx, the fusion between Garnet and Pearl. She continued to cause problems just to fuse with garnet, alluding to manipulation to have intercourse. Usually more than 2 arms on a fusion show that the fusion is unstable, unlike fusions such as Garnet and Stevonnie. What other fusions have more than four arms? Opal and Malachite, which both gems that fuse to make it have an unstable relationship. If Garnet wasn’t under control from pearl to make sardonyx every time they fuse, it would have 2 arms.

Full House's abuse episode didn't address an elephant in the room: Charles might be safe but what happens in the foster system is horrific at best. That kid assuming he won't be adopted, will face a hard life ahead as kids in the system that age out of it often end up on the streets and often prison. There's also drug abuse, alcoholism, pregnancy, etc.

Ziko577 True, but it's better than staying in an abusive situation. Since Charles' father hit him hard enough to land him in the hospital, it's possible that he could have killed Charles had Stephanie not stepped in. It’s the same with criminal minds too If you haven’t seen it there’s a character named Spencer Reid he’s a genius who works for the FBI and it’s not touched upon but it is canon that Spencer has Aspergers, he can’t connect with people or he misses social cues sometimes he speaks out of turn or interrupts on accident There was one child named Sammy on the show, who has severe autism and is non verbal, he had witnessed his mother and father be kidnapped and he was the only one who knew where they were and who took them but bc he was non verbal he couldn’t tell them Spencer connected really well with Sammy and caught on that he was drawing what happened after he played piano with him, Rossi and Blake (two another characters) actually gave subtle hints they knew Spencer had autism but decided it wasn’t their place to share it Moral of the story is that everyone can do jobs disability or not, I really like characters with autism as my sister has it and it’s nice to see them
@orangeradishneo
@orangeradishneo 3 жыл бұрын
Have to disagree. Most people actually DO know this. Those who don't are probably severely uneducated/have extremely biased views and aren't the norm. Many adults with an average education actually mainly associate the term "spectrum" with autism before anything else. "autism spectrum" is a term almost everybody's heard of. On the other hand though, the general public doesn't really understand what autism can look like, especially since it varies from person to person (not just due to a spectrum of severity).

Deathcoldan Yes, exactly. I support gender rights, but a girl cannot play on a male dominated football team. Females are not as strong as males. That's what people do not understand. If a coach says she can't play on a team, it doesn't necessarily mean it's primarily because she's a girl. It's the down sides to being a girl, which is a lack of physical strength. This is why male and female sports teams are separated.

Mr Rogers was a massive influence on many children’s life, you couldn’t say a negative thing about him. Now if you contrast the biggest influencers on young people today (for example Logan Paul) you see that although most children have learned mr Rogers teachings because of their parents, they are being influenced by these young men who don’t have the same life experience as they should be to give advice to an entire generation.

Younger sister has autism and its bad enough to the point where she is nonverbal, she usually would just melt down whenever she doesn't get her way, and she mostly talks through very short phrases. Very hard to understand watching that one episode right after this comment is finshed

"Alone At Sea" was pretty good because it shows the overlooked reality that, sometimes, two people can both be abusive to one another, not just one person inside a toxic relationship.

Umm...no. They can both be toxic, but "mutual abuse" doesn't exist. It's not a thing that can happen with interpersonal dynamics. Abusive dynamics revolve around a power imbalance that CANNOT change hands. You are incredibly mistaken if you think a victim lashing out makes them just as bad as their abuser. Lashing out is not abuse, but is instead a response to it.

And it covered the topic of consensual sexual intimacy in a way that is appropriate for children and in a way that they can understand by using the fictional world of the show itself. Rebecca Sugar is a genius.

I can remember an episode of Teen Titans '03 where Starfire was a victim of racism. it had this character named Val-Yor who treated her like garbage when she was around just cuz she's a Tamaranean even calling her a Troqie (which is the Tamaranean version of the N word). the other titans were at first oblivious to starfire's treatment but later found out after she told Cyborg and Cyborg told Robin. Cyborg: Way to go, Troqie! Starfire: (gasps) You do not call me that! Cyborg: But Val-Yor calls you Troq all the time. Starfire: That does not make it right. Cyborg: What's up? I thought you said it didn't mean anything. Starfire: No. I said it means "nothing." When Val-Yor calls me "Troq," he is saying that I am worthless, a nothing. Cyborg: Star... Starfire: There are those on other planets who feel Tamaraneans are inferior. Troq is what they call us. Cyborg: So he's calling you a terrible name. And you know that if you punch him out, it'll just confirm all the bad stuff he thinks about you? Starfire: Yes. You know what it feels like to be judged simply because of how you look? Cyborg: Of course I do. I'm part robot. Robin: (After Cyborg tells him what Troq really means) What?! Cyborg: (Whispering) And that's what he's been calling her this whole time. Robin: Starfire, why didn't you say something? He will apologize. I'm going to make... Starfire: No, Robin. Our mission is more important than my feelings. Val-Yor: Well, thank you for all your help. Robin: Don't thank us, thank Starfire. Beast Boy: Yeah, she's the one who saved your sorry butt. Val-Yor: (looks at Starfire who has a sad look on her face) Thank you, Starfire. I have to admit you're not bad for a Tr- (Stops for a second) Tamaranean. You must be one of the good ones. Starfire: No. The fact that I rescued you does not make me any better than other Tamaraneans. Val-Yor: Look, I'm trying to pay you a compliment. Raven: Then why does it still sound like an insult? Val-Yor: Spike, you understand. I didn't mean anything by it. It's just... Robin: Val-Yor, I think it's time for you to go. Val-Yor: I thought you earthlings were alright. I guess I was wrong. You're just like the Troqs. (turns and leaves) Robin: I'm sorry Val-Yor treated you like that. If I'd known, I'd never would've let it happen. Cyborg: None of us would. Starfire: There is nothing you could've done. There will always be people who say mean words because you are different. And sometimes their minds cannot be changed. But there are many more people who do not judge others based on how they look or where they are from. Those are the people whose words truly matter.

crazy jamie god, I remember that episode. It's one of my all time favorite episodes, despite not being very popular among fans. It felt like it tackled both racism and bullying. As a victim of bullying as a kid, that episode felt really relatable to me.
